Cherry Blossoms with Alanna

Hi friends. Alanna here with a card using the gorgeous Cherry Blossom background set that was released earlier this month. I absolutely adore this background and couldn't wait to ink it up. All of the supplies I've used today from Whimsy Stamps.

I did a bit of simple Copic coloring with different shades of red to add some variation. I stamped and colored on a separate card panel and then adhered it to my card base. A stamped sentiment from the Mother's Love set along with some gems finish off the card.

Circles and Cats

It's almost September and time for new stamps! But today I want to showcase one of the August releases that I just love. Whimsy artist Deb Davis has another great set for you animal lovers out there, specifically cat lovers called Purre Love. This set is super sweet and will make a great addition to your collection.
I used Circles, Circles, Circles for my background, using many different colors of distress inks. I stamped my sentiment and cat with VersaFine Onyx Black, and then colored in some of the cat spots using Copic markers. I love the sentiment!

A Clean & Simple Banner Shaker Card

This cute banner shaker card was the result of me cleaning out my craft area. There was a lot of stuff collecting in there over the past two years (that was the last time I purged it).

I found some lovely watercolor patterned paper and a whole stash of sequins I didn’t know I had. Pretty cool, hey?!

To put this together, I used the Shaker Maker Banner Die Set to cut the top layer of the shaker window, the acetate for the “glass,” and the watercolor paper background.

Next, I stamped the sentiment (from You’re my Favorite) with Nocturne ink and heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder, so the shaker bits won’t stick and the words will stand out better.

I put the window frame face down and layered it with adhesive foam so I could add a mix of sequins and beads. Then I attached the patterned paper over it to close the shaker.

The card base needed a little something too, so I embossed it with a wavy embossing folder before I added on my banner shaker piece to finish the card.

That’s the best part of rummaging through craft stuff – you never know what you’ll unearth!

I’m so glad you came by to read today. Have you ever discovered stuff in your stash you forgot you had? Old book pages, maybe? A pompom kit from that one convention? A 2lb bag of sequins? Leave a comment below and tell me what you found!

~ Blooming Cherry Blossoms ~

Hi everyone,

I am sharing with you today Whimsy Stamp's Cherry Blossom Background stamp.  I love stamps that are versatile and this background stamp is perfect for many different techniques.  I chose to use it as the main focus using Ranger's Gold Embossing Powder.  I love how it looks on Kraft paper.  It is simple and elegant.

I used the butterfly from Whimsy's Shaker Maker Combo Die Set.  I cut the butterflies out of the scraps from all the layers I used.  To get the layered effect, I cut the butterfly layers in half except the top layer and used micro sized adhesive dots from Glue Dots to attach all the layers together and to adhere the butterfly to the card.  There you have it...quick, easy and elegant...ready to go for any occasion.

Happy Stamping!

Living in the Wild Wild West

Howdy friends!  It's Vicki here and I'm really excited to be sharing my first post with you as a new Whimsy Stamps Digital Design Team Member!

I have been enjoying digging right into all of the wonderful selection of digital stamps for my first month and I'm just as excited about what's coming in the future as well!  For now though, I'd like to share this adorable image by Crissy Armstrong called Western Pony.  Because it's a digital image, I love how you can use the hat with the image, separate it, or place and size it just right for your design!  I decided to combine the hat and pony together to come up with this card design:

The inspiration for my horse actually came from this month's release Animal Prints digital Papers.  It reminded me of that appaloosa breed with the spots.  I found an interesting photo on-line to inspire my coloring as I went along:

I colored it all with Copic markers.  For the hat, I've printed it out, fussy cut it and then used some foam tape to pop it up over the panel as if it's flying off in the wind.
So I took a strip of the papers and added it alongside my image panel and for the background, I've used some more digital papers from a past release called Ahoy, There

Here's a closer look at the image:

I hope you've enjoyed my creation today and I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming future!  Thanks for stopping in today!

Lets go Skiing

Good Morning,

This is my first post on the Whimsy Blog & today I am showing you the super sweet Penguin Skier 2 Digi Stamp.

Penguin Skier 2 - Digital Stamp

I have coloured this stamp up using Copic Markers and have added some Blue Frantage around the stamp. I think this has given it a snowy look, well in my mind anyway lol

It was fun to get the Christmas crafty boxes out as I'd forgotten all the fab goodies I have stashed away. The bark stars & pine cones are so cute.

Thank you for stopping by & pop back again soon for more Whimsy Inspiration.

Hope you have a super day

Hugs

Western Pony

Howdy - MichelleO here today and I have been playing with the Whimsy Digital Stamp Set "Western Pony"by Crissy Armstrong.

I printed the Digital Stamp along with the Whimsy Digital Paper from the Old Glory set. Perfect for a bit of western feel with all those stars!  Love this about the digital way of doing things. I can just print that paper as the background for a flat clean look! I colored with my Copics (colors below) then found some scraps from Carte Bella Cowboy Country paper pad that went perfectly with my stars western feel I was going for. I sewed the layers all together and placed on a kraft card stock base. Found an older sentiment that was a fun western font, sewed and matted it on my card. Three rhinestones for some bling on the bottom of the card. Cuz what is more western than a little bling?

The Best Friendship

How many of you have figured out how fun it is to combine images and stamps?  I would love to see more of you try this.  Its really quite easy and makes your stamps have more then one look.

For this card I combined Pumpkin Patch and Penguin Spook Nite to create this scene.  I even got to use the NEW Notched Rectangle die.  I have to admit this is a favorite of mine.

All the color combination are posted on my blog if you are interest.  Just head to Just4FunCrafts here.    I can not wait to see what YOU do with combining images!!

Jenn Dove

River Ride

Good morning. Dorinda with you today using a brand new image from the DoveArt Studios line.

One of my favorite things about coloring Jenn's images
is that I feel like an artist who's really painted up the scene.

Here, I've arrived at my own secluded island.
using only a Canoe
After all, we all need to get away every now and then.
What better way than traveling into your very own art piece.

I've colored my bit of serenity using copics with a little prisma pencil emphasis.
I hope you have a chance to drop by your bit of happy today.
