I'll be gnome for Christmas...

Hello everyone!
It's Sue here today!

So - I had a plan (as you do) (: ...
to turn the fab
into Christmas Gnomes!

SUCH FUN!

(...and it just goes to show how versatile wonderful Whimsy Stamps are and how you can easily stretch your stash)!

Hope you like this as much as I do!

I stamped this gorgeous gnomie in black ink onto white card.
I used Copic Markers to colour the background first.  I always do it that way round just in case I fluff it up!  Freehand-drawing backgrounds is still new to me, and I don't always get them how I like them first time round!
I started by colouring outward from the lantern.  I used circular strokes to give the impression of the light from the lamp - although I think to be honest it looks more like the moon!  I decided not to get uptight as either option is fine!  It can be what you want it to be - there are no mistakes in art - right!!

I coloured outward from the lantern with Copics in the following order - Y00, Y02, Y11, B00, B07, B09, B99, and then went back over it a few times to improve the depth and the blend, don't worry too much about it being a totally smooth blend, it really does nt need to be for this background to work!
Once I was happy with the glow/moon (: I coloured the rest of the background with B99 and then added the trees with C08.  They are so straightforward to do, they are basically tall triangles with squiggles coming out of them!

I followed a fabulous tutorial by Sandy Allnock on colouring the trees which you can find
HERE

Once I had finished the background I coloured the rest of the image.

Copic Markers Used
Glow - Y00, Y02, Y11
Sky - B00, B07, B09, B99
Trees - C8
Gnome & Snail R05, R37, R89, W1, W3, W5, E30, E33, E37

I used the following Whimsy Stamps  sets to create the sentiment across the bottom of the design.

Finally, I added the snowy dots with a white gel pen.
... and remember, a gnome is for life not just for Christmas! (;

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 31 - WINNERS ANNOUNCED

HAPPY HALLOWEEN PEEPS!
It's my favorite day of the year but it always makes me a little sad when posting my final Halloween card of the season.
I hope everyone had a FRIGHTFULLY fun time celebrating our 31 Nights of Halloween festivities with us?!
Keep reading to find out if you're a winner of one of several prizes...

For my spooky little kitty card, I started off by using the Star Galaxy stencil and sponged white ink onto a black matte.

Then I used the circle from the Shaker Maker Combo die as a frame around the main image.

For the main image I stamped the fence and tree branch from the Attempted Murder set and colored them with Copic markers.

For the Got Peepers kitty I stamped him twice, once sitting on the fence, and then again on a scrap piece of card stock. I colored the scrap one with pencils and (yikes!) cut off his head (well, after all this is a Halloween post). I popped that up on foam tape and placed it over the fence stamped image for a little extra dimension.

The pumpkins are from the Build a Pumpkin Patch die set. I just sponged a little ink on the edges and colored the stems with a brown marker and tucked them into the edge.

Once I had the main image completed I stamped the sentiment and matted everything onto a light blue card base.

31 Nights of Halloween - NIGHT 4 - Got Peepers

Well hello there PEEPS and welcome to Night 4 of our 31 Nights of Halloween celebration!
If you haven't guessed by now...Halloween is my absolute FAVORITE day of the year and I love seeing and sharing Halloween cards with fellow Halloweeners. I hope you enjoy tonight's post...

For my Got Peepers card I started out by stamping the Checkerboard Doodles background and cut it out with the Rectangle Shaker Maker die

The grass was die cut using the Grass and Cloud Edger die set and the "moon" is from the

I stamped the Got Peepers kitties, colored their eyes, ears and noses with colored pencils, and then fussy cut them out.

I used the new Bats and Bubbles die set for the bats on the tombstone and sky. And the tombstone is from the Dracula's Coffin die set (a must have for any Halloween card maker).

I sponged ink on the edges of most of the pieces before adhering them to the spooky little scene ;).

How spooky cute is that little kitty peeking out of the grass?!

The sentiment was stamped in the bottom corner and the final touch was using a white gel pen to add a few stars in the night sky.

Hugs Bunny - special guest - Pamela Schumacher

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing with you my last guest design team post for Whimsy Stamps. I have really enjoyed playing with their super cute stamps and had a lot of fun creating with them. I thank Whimsy Stamps from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful opportunity!

For today's creation I chose to work the super sweet "Hugs Bunny" clear stamp set. Who doesn't love adorable bunnies and hugs! A Momma giving love to her little one...makes my heart smile!

Spiral Roses Thanks So Much

For today's post I'm featuring a really pretty rubber background stamp called Spiral Roses

I first heat embossed with white embossing powder on Bristol cold pressed watercolor paper.

I wet my paper with water first then floated/dabbed on some purple inks (Tim Holtz wilted violet and dusty concord distress inks). After it was dry I went back add added darker highlights to random areas with the concord grape ink.

Once it was all dry I cut a portion of the completed Spiral Roses into a square and glued that to a black card base. For the top I cut off another portion of the background and fussy cut around the flowers then glued that down to the black card base.

I used the scallop from the Kinetic Curved Basics die for the white strip and stamped the sentiment from Everyday Scripted Sentiments.

For a final touch I added a couple of Jelly Fish Sparkletz which added just the perfect purple bling on the sentiment area. I LOVE all these Sparkletz and they're even better in real life.
