31 Nights of Halloween Night 31 Winners post - HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN every BODY Mwaaaaahaahaha!
We hope you've had a SMASHING good time with us celebrating our 31 Nights of Halloween event and are ready to hear all the winners for the prizes we've given along the way?!
Keep reading to find out if you're one of the lucky winners.
But first, here's my last Halloween card for the season, which makes me very sad :(.

But back to being happy because it's still HALLOWEEEEEEN and it's my favorite day of the year! Technically Fright Night is Halloween Eve but that's okay who needs to be technical when there's so much Halloween fun to be had?

I stamped the psycho house image from the Cute But Psycho clear stamp set onto watercolor paper. The image takes up a good portion of the card but I used a black pen to extend the hedge all the way across. Then I used distress inks to watercolor everything.

there are teeny tiny specks of bats already surrounding the house image but I used the Howling Night set to add some of the larger bats.

I also used the Howling Night set for the sentiment

for the final creature feature, I added a zombie from the Zombie Trio die because what's Halloween without a few zombies or at least one zombie?!

Have you seen the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie Psycho?  If you have then the sentiments in the Cute But Psycho stamp set should give you a few giggles.  I mean come on, Happy Mother's Day?!! LOL

I hope you have a hauntingly, frightfully, fun Halloween!! Thanks to everyone who participated and who shared our 31 Nights of Halloween event with your friends and family, we hope you've had a great time!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 30

It's nearly the end of the month and time for those trick or treaters to have fun! It's almost the last day for your chance to win some prizes on the Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween event.

Lots of inspiration from the design team all month long and lots of prizes to be won! Head to the main blog post for details:

My inspirational card was actually featured in Making Cards Magazine this month - my first ever publication! I was super excited! I do have to give credit to Deb Davis from Whimsy Stamps for the awesome stamp set she designed. I used the Halloweeners stamp set as my inspiration for this card.

I created my background panel using a variety of distress oxides - mowed lawn and crushed olive for the grass, wilted violet, chipped sapphire and black soot for the sky. I added some water splatters to the ink to create the 'star' effect in the sky and used the grass and cloud edger die set to cut the grass panels.

All of the characters were stamped from the Halloweeners stamp set and colored in using my prismacolor pencils. I then fussy cut them out.

The gravestones were cut using Dracula's Coffin die set. The larger one I only partially die cut to give me an interactive opening grave stone. I added some distressing to dirty up the gravestones and also did the same on the sentiment strip. The sentiment on the outside of the gravestone was from the Grim Reaper stamp set.

I added a ghost inside of the gravestone for a fun interactive element

This was such a fun card to make and I love how easily the scene came together.

31 Nights of Halloween Night 28

Welcome to Night 28 of Whimsy Stamps' 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration! Have you been enjoying all of this spooky event and all of the fun inspiration?  In case you missed it, be sure to check out grand prize post here.

I am starting out with a combination of two new October images: Howling Night and Web Background. This is a monochromatic design. I stamped everything with VersaFine Onyx Black (I love this black ink more than any!) on gray cardstock - really easy, but a great look for these images  (and it's flat and mailable)!
I stamped the background first, and then arranged all of the other images (four) on top. I love those little bats! For Harry Potter fans, this reminds me of Remus Lupin. How about you?

You can see the complete stamp sets and the supplies I used below.

Thanks for stopping by tonight! Only three more days until Halloween!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 27

Hello and welcome to Day 27 of the 31 Nights of Halloween!

My card tonight is made using the Web Background stamp with Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Grape Juice, and the fabulous Halloween Creatures stencil.

I stamped the sentiment from the Howling Night stamp set with Versamark, and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. After trimming out the lower section of black cardstock to fit my card front, I drew stitching around the edges with a Uniball Signo Gel Pen.

To add the spiders, I used Versafine CLAIR in Nocturne over the stencil since I was going to heat emboss them with Clear Embossing Powder

To get the spider web string details and spider leg points, I used a small sponge dauber and touched up with a black Micron pen. After they were embossed, I added a little “shine” to the spiders with the same gel pen I used for the faux stitching.

And to finish everything off, I added a pretty ribbon along the black cardstock, then adhered everything together with some glue tape.

Thank you for reading today! Come back tomorrow evening for more spooky inspiration!

31 Nights of Halloween Night 26 Special Guest Kathy Schweinfurth

The Halloween fun continues with Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration and I have an exciting giveaway to announce today (see details a bit further down this post)!!

So - what are YOU going as for Halloween?  My costume usually consists of pj pants with a candy corn design, a black or orange sweatshirt and candy corn fluffy slippers - perfect for sitting in the driveway to hand out candy!  These adorable Halloweeners are all ready for Trick or Treat and look fab-BOO-lous!

For my first card, I created a batty background sponging white ink onto black cardstock using the Halloween Creatures Stencil.  I then cut bright green cardstock using the new Peekaboo Window 2 Die for the squares and bottom strip.  The cute mummys and bats are from the Halloweeners set.  I stamped the 'haunted' word from the You're My Boo set onto orange cardstock and fussy cut.
 It's Giveaway Time!
The winner of the giveaway will receive the choice of one Peekaboo Window Die!!

To enter for a chance to win:
The winner will be announced on my blog on October 31st - Halloween!  How's that for a treat?!

On to my next card...with the bright green Peekaboo Window 2 Die 'frame' left over from the first card, I layered it onto purple cardstock and then cut black cardstock with the window die for the squares.  These super cute images and sentiment are from the Halloweeners set which I copic colored and popped up on the card.

Hope you'll stop by tomorrow here at the Whimsy blog for more BOO-tiful projects and FRIGHTful fun!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 25

Hi friends. Alanna here and I'm happy to be joining in on the 31 Nights of Halloween event we've had going on all month here on the Whimsy blog. I've linked the products available in the Whimsy store below.

For my card today, I am using the super adorable Halloweeners stamp set. I started out by heat embossing 3 of the darling images with white embossing powder. I then heat embossed a sentiment that coordinates with each of the images.

After my heat embossing was all done, I built up my background using 3 colors of Distress Inks.  I started by blending on a base layer of Blueprint Sketch. I then added in some Chipped Sapphire and then finally added some Black Soot to the edges.

I popped my panel up with some foam tape and this CAS Halloween card is done. I hope you've enjoyed my card today and got inspired.

~ 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration - Night 24 ~

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 24 of Whimsy Stamp's 2nd Annual 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration!  I am sharing with you again the card I made using my all time favorite stamp, Hot Sip, from the DoveArt's line of rubber stamps.  This stamp is so versatile and can be used with many different techniques.  I've chosen paper piecing and embossing for this Halloween project.

I first stamped the Hot Sip image onto pattern paper and then trimmed around the image and cut out the inside of the handle.  I then inked and stamped the steam with a sandy colored pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I cut a slit into the top of the image and slid the steam down into it and taped it to the back of the cup to keep it in place.  I added Snow Cap White Dimensional Fabric Paint from Tulip to make the  whipped cream and added vintage glass glitter for some chocolate bits for my latte.  Yummm!  To make the coffee cup look curved I first inked around the edges of the cup to give it some depth and shadow and adhered it to my card using different heights of dimensional foam tape so it would stay curved on my card.
