Product Spotlight with Special Guest Kay Miller

Hello Crafty Peeps,

Today we have some gorgeous eye candy from special guest Kay Miller, of My Joyful Moments, using our new Abstract Christmas clear stamp set. Kay's work always makes my jaw drop in awe and this new card is no exception!

Just look at those colors! Kay used white embossing powder to heat emboss the tree image onto her watercolor paper. Then she used Peerless watercolor inks to color the backgroun. I love the greens and yellows with a hint of aqua blue  The edges of the card were distressed and then she loosely painted on more of the green watercolor. The sentiment is stamped in black and cut and adhered to the card. The finishing touch is the addition of some Nuvo Drops in gold. So pretty!!

Be sure to visit Kay at these various social media locations, her work is stunning!

                                                             Abstract Christmas

Quick and easy Christmas cards.

Well I can't ignore it. Christmas is truly on it's way and it's time I started getting serious about making my Christmas cards.
I don't know about you, but though there are cards I will spend a couple of hours on for special people, if I need to make a lot of cards, I need to simplify so that I can make lots in less time.
Sometimes though when batch making cards you don't want to make them all the same right?

So when I received the Abstract Christmas stamp set I was overjoyed, because this was a stamp set that was very versatile, (not to mention that it comes with so many mix and match seasonal sentiments that work great with other stamp sets).

So below I've shown a few examples of different ways I've used this stamp set and each card took only around 15  minutes to make on average.

A stamp set, some ink and embossing powder, plain card,  a couple of basic rectangle dies and simple embellishments was all it took to make these cards and I finished them all in an evening.
You can find a link to the stamp set I used below.

Abstract Christmas

Time to get started on those Christmas cards!

Penguin Saint Nick

I used the following copic markers to colour the image

Ribbon: BG99,G29, 24, 21, 20
Hat/scarf: R29, 27, 24, 22

And of course I made some foamiran poinsettias.  The poinsettias are so quick and easy to make using the lily die.

Product Spotlight with Special Guest Andrea Ockey Parr

Hello Friends,

We have another gorgeous mixed media project to share with you today. Special Guest Andrea Ockey Parr, of Snapping Monsters, is joining us with this artistic tag using some Whimsy clear sets and dies.

Her base layer is cut using our Stitched Tag Die Set which she then stenciled on some splotches and colored in with Brusho crystals and water. Love the fun effects this creates.

Once dried she used our In Stitches clear stamps to create the faux stitching details and then cut out honeycombs with our Honeycomb Pattern Die to add some texture. Once the honeycombs were in place, she added acrylic paint over them.

The tags were then finished with our You Are clear stamps and some mini tags also cut from the Stitched Tag Die Set and some wire to clip them together.

Andrea's style is so unique and colorful, it's easy to love! If you are wanting to give mixed media a try we have lots of products that would work and Andrea's blog is filled with awesome ideas to inspire!
