Paper Door - Stinkerbell part 2 - Special Guest Dina Kowal & GIVEAWAY!

Just wanted to share a couple more projects I made using the Paper Door kit I shared about yesterday! Keep reading for another chance to win a $15 gift certificate from Whimsy Stamps.

I shared this stamp image yesterday, but for this card I used black ink for the outline and colored it in using colored pencils for a completely different look. I used the stencil and gold ink from the kit to add some splashy fireworks to the background, and splattered some of the same ink around the wand for even more sparkle and kick.

This card was so much fun to make - this is done with the individual smaller stamp elements from the set. I started off with the images in green - I positioned the stamp, inked and stamped, then rotated the panel 90 degrees and stamped again, and repeated that around the panel... since the panel is a square, it stamped in the same position on each side. I repositioned the stamp between my first two impressions, and did another round of stamping to complete the ring. I followed the same process for the star image, and then added the little 'poofs' by hand. So fun! I'll have a couple more ideas with this technique coming up next week. Here's a closer look!

Like I mentioned yesterday, I have one $15 gift certificate to give away! For an extra chance to win, please visit the Paper Door info page, then visit my Dina Kowal Creative blog and tell me about your favorite feature of these awesome new kits! Make sure I have a way to contact you as well! I will draw and post a winner Monday evening (March 19) at 8:00 Central time!

Love and Alcohol Inks

Hi friends - Alanna here with my turn to post on the Whimsy blog. I've been having a lot of fun in my craft room with my alcohol inks and I have a fun card to share with you today. I started by making my background with some various alcohol inks in blues. I did add in a bit of silver mixative as well.

I then die cut this panel after it was dry with the Love die which is from the Card Builder - Hearts of Love die set from Whimsy stamps. {ALERT} - this die is currently on sale for only $10 - which is $14 off the regular price.

I die cut it two more times with black card stock and then inlaid them all back together.  I finished off the card with a stamped supporting sentiment and the gorgeous Winter Wishes enamel dots.

Paper Door - Stinkerbell part 1 - Special Guest Dina Kowal & GIVEAWAY!

Ready for something new and fun? Whimsy Stamps is introducing Paper Door this month! These are monthly product kits full of exclusive and exquisite themed crafty goodies - each month you'll get a chance (between the 10th and 25th) to preview the contents, and you'll reserve only the kits you want - no subscriptions and no minimums. Here's a look at the goodies available in the March kit!

Poof! There is so much sparkle and glitz in there, and the paper selection is absolutely exquisite - I almost hated to cut into some of them! Here are a couple of the cards I made, and I'll share 2 more tomorrow.

This has to be my favorite of the cards I made from the kit - I stamped the fairy in a light ink and colored her in with colored pencils. The sparkles around her wand are clear embossed, and I used the gold Delicata ink from the kit to stencil in the cloudy background. I love that gold paper - I embossed it with a Darice folder for some extra texture.

For my second card I stamped the other fairy image onto one of the textured papers from the kit, and colored her in with Copic markers, adding a little Wink of Stella for some sparkle on her wings. Not only is the cardstock textured, it also has a coating on it, which made the Copic blending very easy. I used clear powder to emboss the Lattice Background stamp on the curved panel for a little extra something in the background, and that curve was cut with one of the Stitched Border Dies. I love all the little mix and match sentiments in this set, too.

Not only do I get to tell you about the Paper Door kit, I get to give a $15 gift certificate to a lucky winner! For a chance to win, please pop over to the Whimsy Stamps store and take a peek at their new March release, then visit my Dina Kowal Creative blog and tell me all about your favorite stamp or set in the batch! Make sure I have a way to contact you as well! For another chance to win, check back tomorrow too! I will draw and post a winner Monday evening (March 19) at 8:00 Central time on my blog!

Happy Birthday Digital Sentiment Card

Hello! It's my turn to post on the blog today, and I just LOVE this digital sentiment set by Denise Lynn.
I used this cute new digital sentiment set 'Happy Birthday Sentiments' - lots of fun sentiments and images to use on any occasion card.

I imported the 'Happy Birthday Sentiments' digital file into my silhouette studio and then proceeded to 'subtract' the images I wanted. I copy and pasted the flower a number of times and placed them all over my background - this was then printed out as it was.
The sentiment was made of 2 separate words which I placed together and then printed out.
I used the Whimsy Stamps Build a Poinsettia die set to create the flower using 2 shades of red cardstock and a piece of vellum. I added some bling to the inside of the flower and also on random flowers around the card.
I then mounted this onto black cardstock and then a red card base.

I love the effect of this color combo.

It is the start of a new challenge over on the Whimsy Inspires Challenge blog, with the theme as always 'Anything Goes'.
For more inspiration from the design team, and to enter the challenge, please check out the Challenge Blog.

Hope to see you joining in our challenge this month.

Thanks for looking.
Happy crafting!

Donut Birthdays

Good afternoon! It has been a while since I last posted on this blog, but I am excited to share a new project with you all today. I used the adorable Donut Birthdays stamp set with the matching sentiment as well.

*NEW Donut Birthdays

I cut out the circles slightly bigger than the donuts to look as if they were plates that the donuts were sitting on! And for the first time in many years, I used an old embossing folder to add a little texture to the card as I couldn't add all the layers I usually do!

You can read more about this card on my blog post here

See you next time!

A Father Is Born

Hey there lovely Whimsy Stamps fans. I've been let loose on the blog for the first time today and I have a sweet post to share with you. I am blessed to be one of the Whimsy Stamps Digital Design Divas and let me tell you, there is no shortage of gorgeousness in the Whimsy Stamps Digital Vault. We are spoilt for choice by the talents of the Whimsy Design Team, so there is ALWAYS the right image for the occasion. I have two family members who have had babies recently, my lovely sister and my baby brother. I tell you, it's no big 'thang' to find an image to celebrate these amazing women becoming mummies right? But what about the papas? Look no further, our awesome Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong has you covered! To celebrate the birth of a father, let me introduce you to 'Little Angel Father'.

This image just melts me. I have watched first my baby brother take this role recently and then my brother in law and I just LOVE the hearts of these modern men, who embrace their part in this joyous journey, sharing the care and unashamedly doting on their 'girls'. So this creation is in celebration of both these wonderful men in my life and their new roles as 'daddy'.

How perfectly does this image capture the rush of love that comes with becoming a new parent?! That 'will' to protect and nurture, It is captured so perfectly in Crissy's wonderful lines. However you colour this beautiful image, (mine was coloured with copics which you can now buy here at Whimsy Stamps!) the message is simple, it is a celebration of fatherhood, of new life, of dreams yet to be fulfilled and stories still to play out. THE perfect new papa image. I hope you enjoyed my take on this classic image. It's one from the Vault, but as I've come to realise with all my Whimsy goodies, the designs are classic, they don't date and are always a good investment.

Thanks for popping in today. The Whimsy Stamps goodies I've used in my creation are in the thumbnails below, click through to the store to be taken straight to the products. Have an awesome day ya'll and thanks for stopping in on my first Digital Design Divas post for Whimsy Stamps. Hugs xoxo

Coffee Friend

I am very pleased, that I have the opportunity to show my cards here.
Today I show a card for all Coffee Friends :) I am Ute and I show you this inspiration:

How I made this card?

I work with Pixelmator to cut the Digital Stamps, because I will only work with the word FRIEND. After the cut, I copy past the word in my program Pages. I adjust the sentiment on the page... I will work with a regular stamp set and use the coffee theme. I need also a second sentiment, but I haven't one how fit. So I write Coffee in a font, that I like. After finish I print the paper out with my Laserprinter. Now I cut the card in 4x11Inch and score it by 5.5 Inch. I foil the sentiment with a foil from my stuff. After than I stamp one cup, masking and stamp the second too. Now I color the cups with my Prismacolor pencils.  I like to have a face in the cups and use a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for the smilie. At least I use a strip of paper on my card.

Which Whimsy products I used?

I used the wonderful Sentiment "Say it big"  and I also use an older stamp set "Coffee Break" for my card.

Thanks for visit the Whimsy Stamp blog and for your lovely comment.

Love You To The Moon

Hello Whimsy fans! It is my turn to share some inspiration with you.

My card features the "Over The Moon Cow" digital stamp and a sentiment from the Vintage Sentiments digital set.
This stamp has so many possibilities! How cute would this be on a new baby card?

I coloured this adorable cow with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and cut it out using a stitched circle die and added it to a scallop circle. I printed the sentiment and cut it out with a matching stitched oval die. Some fun patterned paper, enamel dots and ribbon finish off my card.

PAPER DOOR - Stinkerbell

Oh me oh my, I couldn't be more excited to introduce to you STINKERBELL, the first edition PAPER DOOR stamp set!  These sassy fairies are so much fun and this kit has cards stock that you will want to stroke and admire - LOL!

This card was made using products from both the PAPER DOOR kit and the killer NEW Shaker Maker die, which is how I was able to achieve that skinny green frame.

I popped up the fairies dress with foam tape for extra dimension.  I'm sure you can figure out how to make this card but if you prefer full step-by-step instructions they are included with your PAPER DOOR kit along with other projects and bonus goodies.

I hope you enjoy your first PAPER DOOR box and I look forward to seeing all the Stinkerbell projects you create with it too!  Have FUN and SHARE this creative new kit with all your friends.
