Snow Couple

Hi, Ute here...

Today I want share a wonderful image... two lovely snowmen...

At first I cut out my card base 11x4 Inch, after than I scored at 5,5 Inch. Now I made a fast watercolor background with a light blue. I decide me, to made a circle with Hologram paper. I colored my snowmen with my Inktense Pencils from Derwent. For the snow effect I use glossy accent and a white puff embossing powder... It works really good... I haven't no glue where is my snow marker...
At last I found a sentiment who will fit and finished my card.

I wish you all a wonderful, peaceful and lovely Christmas.

Hugs Ute

Penguin with Star - special guest - Kathy Tanner

Hi, it's Kathy here with my last Guest Design Team card for Whimsy Stamps.
I have really loved working with Whimsy again!!!
Such awesome products to play with and such awesome people to work with too :)

For my last card I chose to use this super adorable stamp by Lee Holland called Penguin With Star.

I think this penguin is a soft, fluffy one, perhaps he's just a chick?
So I decided to colour him a soft warm grey.
I used Copics to colour the penguin and tree and cut them out.

Then I created my background.
I used Distress Inks and sponged on some Shaded Lilac, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans and Black Soot,  Then I splashed some water on top.

I used some Ranger Texture Paste with the Star Dangle Stencil to create the beautiful stars and I added some extra dots of "snow" with a gel pen.

I added a little Wink of Stella to the star the penguin is holding.

For the snowy ground I just tore some strips of white card which I think give a nice soft snow effect.

Copics Used :

R 22, 24, 27
YR 14, 16, 18
Y 15
B 0000
W 00, 1, 3, 5
G 21, 24, 82
YG 13
E 31, 37, 39

It is extremely rare for me not to use a sentiment on a card but I was just happy with the way this card looked without one.

This little penguin is just so sweet and I loved colouring him.
He made me realise that I need some more Lee Holland stamps :)

Thanks for dropping by

Kathy

Christmas Candy with DT Deni

Good Morning All,

Today I am excited to start sharing some new images from Whimsy Stamps, they are now working with Pollycraft so we are excited to start working with another designer on the team. I am a long term fan of the Pollycraft images so am excited to be working with them.

The image I am working with today is Candy, she is actually one of the original ones I owned which is pretty cool.

I printed the image onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her up using Copic Markers.

I cut some mat layers from American Crafts Cardstock and Mondi Color Copy using my Cutterpillar Pro Trimmer, and some patterned papers from American Crafts Hollyday Paper Pad.

Candy - Digital Stamp

I used a Decorative Die Nesting Square Bracket. First I traced the inside of the die using a Mechanical Pencil onto the image piece, then cut it out using EK Success Cutterbee Scissors. I then ran the same die with some Kraft colour American Crafts Cardstock through my Sizzix Big Shot, I then traced the outside of the die onto some American Crafts Cardstock and once again cut it out using my Cutterbee Scissors.

Once I had all my layers cut I grabbed some cute Christmas ribbon from my stash and also found this cool gold ribbon stuff so added that to the side of my ribbon. I adhered all the layers together using Scotch ATG and the ribbon also with the same, I then wrapped it around the back of those layers and taped it using some Scotch Magic Tape.

I added all the layers to a Couture Creations Card base using Scotch ATG, I then decorated the inside with the same papers to make it all match.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

Using the New Kinetic Dies to Create a Dangling Element

Hello there!  It's Andrea with you today, and I'm super excited about the card I'm sharing with you.  Not only does it have an adorable elf, but it also has a very cool, interactive element.  Check it out.

Anybody else feel a little bit like this elf - balancing too many things - at the holidays?  I know I certainly do!  This adorable Balancing Elf, designed by Krista Heij-Barber, came out last year, but I didn't get a chance to use him.  When Whimsy released the new Kinetic Dies, which have a dangle feature, I knew I had to combine the two.  This image is just perfect for this technique!

I colored that cutie patootie with Copics (colors listed below) and cut him out with my ScanNCut and then set to constructing the dangle.

The scariest part of this process was cutting apart the image I had just colored!  The picture above shows the dies I used from the No-See Kinetic Basics Die Set.  I die-cut them from 110 lb. white cardstock to make sure the element was sturdy.

The above pictures illustrate how I assembled the gift portion of the dangle.  I attached a small foam square onto the circle and placed the tag-looking piece on top, sliding the foam square through the piece's opening.  I then adhered the foam square to the back of the gifts.

I adhered the long section of the tab piece to the back of the elf, and my dangling element is complete!  I failed to get a photo, but I added another foam square and die-cut circle nearer the top of the gifts for support.  All that's left is putting my card together!

Using the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles Dies, I die-cut some red patterned paper and adhered it to a white card.  I die-cut a white oval with the Basic Stitched Ovals Die Set, attached the elf, and affixed the oval to my card.  When adhering the elf, I did not put any adhesive on the dangle, including the part adhered to the elf, as I wanted to make sure the dangle moved freely.  I die-cut a banner with the Bold Banners Dies, stamped a sentiment from Christmas Scene Builder with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and clear heat-embossed it.  I popped up the banner with foam tape and added some sparkle to the gifts, along with some glittery enamel dots.  There's a short video below of the dangle in action.

Trio of Abstract Christmas Trees

Hi there my crafty friends!
I have a trio of cards to share with you today using this super cool stamp set called, Abstract Christmas.   I wanted to play around with the colors a bit and see how many different looks I could get.
This first card uses the very traditional color scheme of red and green.
The tree was colored with Copic markers and cut out using coordinating die.  I covered the entire thing with glossy accents.  Once it was dry, I couldn't leave well enough alone, so I added Stickles Glitter glue on top of several circles.

The background was done  with green Tim Holtz ink. The "snowflakes" were added with the Polka Dot stencil and texture paste.  The sentiment was done using the Christmas Mini Tag Sentiments set. I added white ribbon tied with jingle bells.  Lastly, I adhered a few coordinating sequins.

For my next card I used various pastel shades of Copic markers to make a softer version of the card above.

For my last card I used shades of red and aqua.  There is something about this color scheme that says "retro" to me.

Here is a last look at all 3 cards!
Thank you for stopping by today!
