For my second card I decided to go with Spring.....I just LOVE this NEW image from the set Spring Stepping from the Crissy Armstrong Collection. I have a ton of paper flowers and decided just a hint of glitter sure makes these flowers pop!!!

Froggie for Your Monday

Good Afternoon All!

Hope you've been having a great Monday! I tried to post a card earlier, but Mr. Blogger was giving me trouble. So I posted a little news instead. Now I'm back to try again.

I'll be quick as my last post was rather long....

This is a card using Whimsy Frog, one of our very first Whimsy Stamps products. I just adore his sweet smiling face.

I went with some fun Lime Rickey papers from BasicGrey with different shades of green card stock. Then I embellished with flowers and ribbons and buttons.

This card fits the challenges at:
Quixotic Challenges: Monochromatic
Creative Card Crew: Going Dotty

Thanks for coming on by again today. I hope you have a nice afternoon. Join us here tomorrow for another fun Whimsy creation!

Happy Stamping,

Whimsy Going Digital

Good Morning!

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the month of March,  I can't believe it's almost over! Happy Spring!

I wanted to share some exciting news with you all today! As many of you know, we recently released a limited edition digital image stamp for our Help for Haiti fund raising efforts. Well, many customers contacted us to ask if we could release more digital images. And, so I’m happy to share that in just a couple weeks time, Whimsy Stamps will be releasing a special, exclusive digital stamp collection!

If you are a rubber stamp lover, like myself, please don’t worry! Whimsy Stamps will still be carrying our existing rubber stamps and will continue to carry and manufacture new rubber stamp designs. This is just a new adventure here at Whimsy Stamps to bring our existing and new customers other options in stamping and crafting supplies.

Right now, all of our artists are brainstorming and creating some fabulous new designs to share with you, all in digital format. We will have a sneak peek week beginning on Friday, April 9th and the official Whimsy Stamps Digital Stamp Collection will be released and available to purchase on Monday, April 12th.

All of our digital images will be available as automatic download zip files that will each contain a JPEG, TIF, and PNG version of the image, all at 300dpi. This will allow customers to use their preferred file format.

If you are new to digital stamping, digital images come with some great perks! You will be able to immediately use your digital stamps as soon as your purchase is complete, no added costs or waiting on shipping. Just click a link and download to your computer.  Then you can size and print as many times as you like to fit the projects you are working on. There is no need for storage of digital stamps, you just keep the file handy on your computer.  And, digital stamps are less expensive than rubber art stamps due to the lower manufacturing costs, but still maintain a beautiful image to work with!

The digital stamp market is ever growing and changing and we are very excited to be expanding our product offerings with our exclusive digital designs! We hope you will stay tuned for more information as well as join us for our new release on April 12th!

Oh and before I go, do you like digital images and crafting challenges? If you said yes, you will love the new challenge blog, Sundays with Crissy! Our very own, super talented Crissy Armstrong is starting up her very own digital challenge blog! She is currently holding a DT call and will begin her challenges soon! For more information and details, please click HERE.

Happy Stamping!

Spring Flowers with Shy Ann!

Hello and Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

My post today is a card I made on a warm, sunny, spring-like day.  I'm posting it to try and lure that weather back this way!  I always have fun working with "Shy Ann" by Katie Sowa for the Mythical Collection.  I love her in yellow :)  She is colored with Copics and gold Stickles.  The color palette I went with symbolizes the change of colors you see from dull to bright when the new growth begins.  The inspiration for the color palette is actually the background "paper," which is a paper napkin.  I had originally bought the napkins to do the felted cardstock technique, but it wasn't working.  I love the pattern so much that I just used it as if it was paper.  I distressed the edges to hide the imperfections while cutting :) The sentiment is from the "Spring Stepping" set by Crissy Armstrong.

I really hope you like this project and let's ALL hope the Spring "Gods" heed the call and bring back the warm weather to stay!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Featured Stamper and Guest DT Announcement

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!

I always love the weekends, don't you, and Saturdays at Whimsy are always fun too. It's the day our design team takes a break so that we can share some artwork created by you...a fan or follower or customer of Whimsy, in our Featured Stampers post. It's our chance to show your talent and Whimsy creations to others. And today we have the talented Paula Cross of Polly's Card Heaven! Paula created this gorgeous card using the Wings of Hope stamp.

I love the beautiful blues and greens Paula has used on this card. The image is beautifully colored and accented with touches of glitter. Her details are just fabulous, especially love the distressing and heart edging! Thank you for sharing this card with us Paula! Spring Stepping in Blue Tulips

Happy Friday everyone!  Woo-hoo ... it's almost the weekend!  :o)

Today I'd like to share with you a new card I have made with the gorgeous 'Spring Stepping' stamp set: from the Crissy Armstrong Collection for Whimsy.  I had so much fun colouring this one (whilst listening to my Glee CD for the hundredth time, LOL!) with one of my fave colour combos:

I used chalk ink and the leafy swirl stamp included in the 'Spring Stepping' stamp set to stamp around the edges of the image plate - I love the effect this gives!  The wonderful sentiment is also part of the stamp set and I love that 2 different fonts have been used!  I'm going to enter this card into a few challenges including One Stop Craft Challenge 72 whose theme for this week is 'Let it Shine!' - Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring this challenge with a $15 gift certificate, woo-hoo!!

Thanks so much for popping by today, and I hope you all have a fabulous crafty weekend!

Rainy Day Emma!

I created this card to fit into the One Stop Craft Challenge which is being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week! The theme is 'let it shine' so I decided 'Rainy Day Emma' would be the perfect image to add a bit of glitter to! I glittered up her puddle.
I hope you find some time to play along as you could be in with a chance to win a
$15 Whimsy Stamps Gift Certificate!
I coloured gorgeous Emma with distress inks and used my sewing machine to zigzag stitch around the edges.
Of course I had to add lots of flowers, did you know you can buy beautiful paper flowers in the Whimsy Online Store!
thank you for dropping by this morning! Hope you have a great day!

Here's Hoping you have a "Fairy" nice Day!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! Only a few days until the weekend already!! Where does the time go. I am so glad that Spring is here, so for my card today, I decided to share a more springtime image. I had a great time water coloring and cutting out Water Lily from Whimsy stamps from the Mythical collection illustrated by Katie Sowa. Isn't she just so fun?!!! This image could be used for birthday's, thinking of you, hello's, or just about anything.

I created this card with the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge in mind. The paper is from Scenic Route Sonoma which I have had in my stash forever!! I just love the soft yellow and pink together. The image was cut out and adhered with dimensionals to a background dry embossed with Swiss Dots on Very Vanilla cs. I just had to glitter up her wings...after all what is a fairy without glitter. After reading Vicki's post for yesterday, I realized this card is also perfect for the
One Stop Craft Challenge this week which Whimsy Stamps happens to be sponsoring! The challenge is to Let it shine using glittery or bright embellishments.

The envelope is created using Priscilla's 6X6 think style envi kit found here, using some golden Bazill, Sonoma dp and a large star spacer.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed today's post. Be sure to stop by again for more inspiration from my talented dt sisters!

blessings,
Chris

Let Your Spring Shine!

posted by Vicki - Stamped Smiles

Hello friends!  I'm sure you are all as excited as I am about Spring officially starting as of March 20th!  I've always loved bright yellow colors for Spring as they seem to be so cheery, sunny and happy!  And what could be more perfect for Spring than to use this gorgeous Spring Stepping stamp set from Whimsy Stamps by the Crissy Armstrong collection!  Have you taken a look at all the different stamps you receive in this set?!  I've used the carousel horse, the sentiment and the edging around the image you see stamped in yellow is also from the SAME stamp set!  I just love more choices, don't you?! :)  After making up this card, I thought what a stunning card this would make for Mother's Day or even a birthday!  I had fun using my Copics to color in this gorgeous image!  Besides the yellow and touches of red, I've also used my Cuttlebug to texture the Basic Grey card stock and I've used some Basic Grey DP papers!

I actually made this card for the One Stop Craft Challenge this week which Whimsy Stamps happens to be sponsoring!  The theme is set as "Let It Shine!"  Which is absolutely perfect for Spring I thought!  I was thinking shine as in BRIGHT colors and then I realized it was to make your images and embellies "shine", so I've added some glitter in places on the flowers and butterfly on the horse.  Although hard to see in the photo, I've placed some crystal over the tulips as well! :)  I hope you will "shine up" your cards this week and enter for your chance at winning some Whimsy goodies!!

I've also used this fun sketch from the Friday Sketchers Challenge for my card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope that you will keep checking out this blog for TONS more fabulous creations from this VERY talented design team!!  Happy Spring everyone!

(finally) Spring!

I was all set to celebrate the arrival of Spring and we've had snow instead of bright blossoms! This was not at all what I had in mind. I guess I'll have to have Spring on paper for a little longer! I love the animal stamps from Whimsy and enjoy finding new uses for them. This is the Fall Fox and I thought it would be a perfect Spring image since it has the cute little butterfly. The sentiment is just printed out on my computer so I could color the letters to match. My flowers had to have some sparkle, so they each have some Stickles on top. I hope it brightens your day!

Supplies used:
Image-Whimsy Fall Fox
Copics-E30, E53, E35, G07, G14, YR24, Y21, B21, B23

Featured Stamper Saturday

Happy Saturday All!

Wow, what a great week! The sun was shining and the weather is finally warming up and Spring starts today! I hope you've had a nice week where ever you are! A big thanks to all the Whimsy DT gals for their hard work on our latest release and blog hop. We hope you are all enjoying the daily inspirations they are posting here on our new blog.

Today we are giving the DT a rest to showcase a couple projects from some Whimsy fans. This week we have two Featured Stampers! First, we have Marlene of Disguised as a Grown Up, and her card using Pretty Peartunia from the Whimsy Mythical Collection.

Marlene colored this image beautifully and really captured the fun of the image itself. Love the pretty papers and accents too. And, if you need a giggle be sure to visit her blog and read her post! She's quite the funny lady!

Next we have a card made by Piali of Touch of Creation, using Whimsy Pet Friends from the Whimsy Animals Collection. Piali created this card for a challenge which Whimsy recently sponsored. I think she did a great job bringing these sweet little friends to life.

I love the layout and fun papers and of course that sentiment is just perfect with this image. To read Piali's post, you can click here.

Whimsy would like to thank both Marlene and Piali for sharing a bit of Whimsy with all of us! We hope you will both grab the code from our sidebar, for the our Featured Stampers badge, to display on your blogs.

Have a great weekend everyone! Happy Stamping,

Wonderful Water Lily

Morning everyone, Stacey here today to share some more Whimsy love with you! Looking at the fantastic tutorials that my wonderful team-mates have created this week, I really hope that you aren't all too disappointed with my little card that I have to show you today :o)

For this card, I just had to use Whimsy's super adorable Water Lily image. So sweet and such fun to colour.  I also used one of the new Whimsy sentiment sets designed by our very own Ann. Not only do you get some great sentiments, you also get cute little accessory stamps... check out those butterflies! All I did was stamp and colour them, cut them out, folded them in half and then applied to my card using a little bit of silicone glue. They look really lovely and 3D in real life and look like they really have just fluttered in and landed on my card. Now I've discovered these babies, there will be no stopping me - there will be butterflies on every card soon!

Goodie List........
Image Stamp: Water Lily by Whimsy Stamps.
Sentiment: Oval Snippets by Whimsy Stamps.
Paper: Earth Love by Cosmo Cricket.
Copic Colours: E00, E11, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37, E50, R20, R22, Y17, Y21, G21, G85, G99.
Tools & Embellishments: Butterflies part of Whimsy sentiment set.

That's all from me folks, thanks for visiting us our inspiration blog today!

A Whimsy Book Card

Oh wow! Did you see Kim's amazing glitter tutorial here yesterday? How do I follow that? Huge thanks to Kim for joining us here and sharing her tips!
****************************
This is the birthday card I made for my son with plenty of room to add a packet of candy inside and a little pouch for cash or a gift card! I have compiled a mini tutorial for this card for anyone who would like to give this a try!

Of course I used the fabulous Whimsy Stamps Monkey and on the inside I added the super cute alligator.
I used sheet of card measuring 29.5cm x 18cm or 11 5/8 in x 7 in. I scored at 5 1/2 then turned the card around 180 degrees and scored again at 5 1/2, it should leave just a thin spine.

This gives you a basic book shape.
Cut out backing card in a shade that co-ordinates with your designer papers. Add your designer paper to the backing card and decorate as desired. I used Fancy Pants 'Papa'.
Create a little money holder by cutting a piece of card to 10cm x 7cm or 4in x 2 3/4 in
Score at 1/2 in around 3 sides as shown.

Cut the corners off at diagonals and punch a half circle in the top edge.

There are various ways to add a packet of candy, for this card I used a narrow plastic packet and made a fold over top for it. I used the Stampin' Up slit punch to create a slot to tie it to the card. I could have attached the string directly to the back of the card but for this one I made a small card attachment and stapled twine to it.
Now, decorate the money holder and stick down using the flaps.

I also like to decorate the back page, it finishes off the card perfectly.

If you got all the way down here, thank you for your patience, if anyone makes one of these please let me know as I would love to see your fabulous creations!
have a great thursday!
Deb xx
