Two cards to share in honor of Michelle and Bella!!

Hi Everyone!! I just wanted to share a couple of cards with you that I made for two special events over at Whimsy where Denise and the rest of the team are trying to share the love with those in need.

The first is a card I created for Michelle Oatman who recently suffered a tragic accident which has left her with the loss of her right eye. The stamping community is once again coming together to show support for Michelle by sending her well wishes and cards. The Whimsy team is proud to support the card drive being held by our Senior Designer Debbie Eastman and the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge blog for Michelle.

The donkey image on my card is created by owner and artist for Meljen's Designs. The sentiment is created by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs to coordinate with this image. Both are available to download for FREE. You can download this freebie set now by visiting the main store page at Whimsy. You can find more information about Michelle, her mailing info, and this card drive on the Spoon Full of Sugar Blog. We would love to flood Michelle's mailbox with happy mail!!

My second creation is one I made for Bella.
Bella is a member of the same gymnastics group as Whimsy's Senior Designer Erin's daughter, and is a very brave little girl, eight years old, who has been through a horrific experience that will change her life forever. She has been through so much. You can read all about Bella and her story HERE

For Bella's card I used the Hang in There Digital image and sentiments from Whimsy as well as the rubber sentiment Whimsy Circle Postmarks. The image is completely paper pieced. The image panel is a pocket where the ticket sticks can pulled out of.

Erin is hoping that we can all shower Bella with cards for the rest of the month. We all are crafting anyway....So, please, if you have the time, send a card to Bella!! It does not have to be a new card. It can be one from your stash. We want that PO Box stuffed to the brim everyday with cards from around the world! Let's send Bella wishes and smiles!!! How many cards do you think we can get?????

The mailing address is:

The Bella Tucker Fund
P.O. Box199
Londonderry NH
03053 USA

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great day!

Chris

Special Request

Good Afternoon,

I have a special message I'd like to share today that goes along with a special request from our DT to all you wonderful stampers/card makers out there.

Our Designer Lisa's sister Jayme was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and they the family recently found out that her cancer has spread to other areas of her body. Doctors are not optimistic and her time is running short.

In an effort to cheer up her sister, Lisa is hosting a RAK request for cheerful cards. If you've not heard of a RAK before, it's a Random Act of Kindness. Lisa is asking that we each create a card with a cheerful sentiment and image to brighten Jayme's day. Please no get well cards.

Jayme loves frogs and Lisa has said that she's sure to love a card created with some fun frog images! If you choose to join in this RAK request, you can enter to win a fantastic prize pack sponsored by Whimsy Stamps and a few other stamp companies. All of the details and how to enter are posted on Lisa's blog HERE.

If you are making a card this weekend, why not sending it to Jayme! Thanks in advance for all your help with this effort.

Cards can be mailed to:
Jayme Clevenger
2826 Wilshire
Woodward, OK 73801
(you can mention that you are a stamping friend of Lisa's)

Here's Hoping you have a "Fairy" nice Day!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! Only a few days until the weekend already!! Where does the time go. I am so glad that Spring is here, so for my card today, I decided to share a more springtime image. I had a great time water coloring and cutting out Water Lily from Whimsy stamps from the Mythical collection illustrated by Katie Sowa. Isn't she just so fun?!!! This image could be used for birthday's, thinking of you, hello's, or just about anything.

I created this card with the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge in mind. The paper is from Scenic Route Sonoma which I have had in my stash forever!! I just love the soft yellow and pink together. The image was cut out and adhered with dimensionals to a background dry embossed with Swiss Dots on Very Vanilla cs. I just had to glitter up her wings...after all what is a fairy without glitter. After reading Vicki's post for yesterday, I realized this card is also perfect for the
One Stop Craft Challenge this week which Whimsy Stamps happens to be sponsoring! The challenge is to Let it shine using glittery or bright embellishments.

The envelope is created using Priscilla's 6X6 think style envi kit found here, using some golden Bazill, Sonoma dp and a large star spacer.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed today's post. Be sure to stop by again for more inspiration from my talented dt sisters!

blessings,
Chris
