Best Kind of Friend - Bunny Balloons 2

Hi Whimsy friends, Iris here today. I hope y'all are having a fabulous week so far. Bunny Balloons 2 is the name of a super cute clear stamps set from Whimsy's March release. These floating bunnies with their balloons are not only super adorable but extremely versatile for birthday cards, encouraging messages, celebration cards or just a 'Hello' note.

Here is my card made using the Bunny Balloons 2 set, Beaucoup Bouquet clear set & matching  Beaucoup Bouquet die set as well as the Pierced and Stitched Circles die set.

I started out with a A2 size top fold card cut from heavy weight black cardstock. For my background I used heavy weight mixed media paper (Strathmore 140lbs). This is my absolute favorite paper to use for ink blending. Ink blends like butter, very smooth and without leaving any marks from the sponge or brush. In addition it is very sturdy and water friendly. It won't curl, get soaked nor will the surface look puffy after adding water or water based ink/color.

I sponged my background panel with Salty Ocean distress ink. Spritzed on clear water and dabbed off the excess with a paper towel. Then I used watered down Chipped Sapphire distress ink and a brush to add some dark blue splatters; dabbing off the excess again. My background panel is about 1/8" smaller than my card base.

I die cut the circle frame from white cardstock using the Pierced and Stitched Circles die set. I stamped the bunny and the flowers & foliage with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Hammermill 100lbs color copy paper (it's the perfect paper for alcohol inks, just not for any kind of water or water based ink/color). I colored with Copics and Faber Castell Polychromos.
The flowers and foliage were die cut with the matching die set and the bunny was fussy cut.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink. After assembling my card (I used foam tape for some of the elements to give it more dimension) I added 2 sequins and some purple Stickles to the bunnies bow tie for a finishing touch.

Here's a list of Copics & Polychromos colors I've used:
