31 Nights of Halloween - Night 31 - WINNERS ANNOUNCED

HAPPY HALLOWEEN PEEPS!
It's my favorite day of the year but it always makes me a little sad when posting my final Halloween card of the season.
I hope everyone had a FRIGHTFULLY fun time celebrating our 31 Nights of Halloween festivities with us?!
Keep reading to find out if you're a winner of one of several prizes...

For my spooky little kitty card, I started off by using the Star Galaxy stencil and sponged white ink onto a black matte.

Then I used the circle from the Shaker Maker Combo die as a frame around the main image.

For the main image I stamped the fence and tree branch from the Attempted Murder set and colored them with Copic markers.

For the Got Peepers kitty I stamped him twice, once sitting on the fence, and then again on a scrap piece of card stock. I colored the scrap one with pencils and (yikes!) cut off his head (well, after all this is a Halloween post). I popped that up on foam tape and placed it over the fence stamped image for a little extra dimension.

The pumpkins are from the Build a Pumpkin Patch die set. I just sponged a little ink on the edges and colored the stems with a brown marker and tucked them into the edge.

Once I had the main image completed I stamped the sentiment and matted everything onto a light blue card base.

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 30

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here :)

Have you been enjoying the 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration here at Whimsy Stamps? There have been some frightfully awesome creations haven't there? Mwah, ha, ha!

Talking of Trick or Treat, I have a little treat for you, but more of that later. First, let's have a little looksie at this cute witches cat. (The colour of this cat, is entirely based on a local cat that terrorizes me for food every time I open our front door!)

So, this is Flying Witch Cat by Dustin Pike. I absolutely LOVE this stamp. Of course he's been coloured with copics, along with the background. That's been done with my trusty old sponge and some Colourless Blender Various ink.

I've teamed Flying Cat Witch with a sentiment from the Candy Corn Dress Up Clear Stamp Set. This set is incredibly cute, as well as having some fab sentiments.

The stars are from the Array of Rainbows Die Set. Love this set because it's so versatile!

So, I mentioned a little treat for you earlier. We have a $15 Gift Certificate up for grabs. All you need to do is leave a comment telling us what actual name you would give this version of Flying Cat Witch? We call the cat this one is modeled on Kellogg (Kellogg comes to see me for breakfast every morning... Do you have this brand of cereal in The States?) You might want to call him Bob! Whatever, be sure to leave your comment below. Winners will be announced here on 31 October.

31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration - Night 29

Hi All! It's day 29 of Whimsy's Annual 31 Nights of Hallowe'en Blog Celebration, and I'm Crissy, one of the illustrators for Whimsy Stamps!  There's ways to win "Whimsy-cal" prizes, so please stay tuned to the end of this post to find out how you can qualify as a possible winner, ok? Eee!

In this card I have used three Whimsy products: Cat Witch (a digital image), Haunted Halloween Scene (also a digital image with multiple choices within the set) and the sentiment is from the Penguin Spook Nite rubber cling set.

I made a scene using these images and coloured it in with Copic markers.  I had a lot of fun creating the glow from the moon on the hills and the trees, the glow of the windows on the lawn, and the glow from the jack-o-lanterns! The bark of the tree was also fun to fill in.  I really enjoy making a scene card!
Here is your close-up:

Now the Grand Prize of the 31 day spell-a-bration is a $100 shopping spree at Whimsy Stamps - WOW - can you believe that?! One lucky winner will get to fill up their cart at Whimsy and walk away with $100 US in Whimsy crafting goodies! That's a pretty generous prize for one lucky person!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 28

Hello everyone!  I hope it's a Happy Monday!!!

Sue here today with a spook-tacular project to play along with the wonderful 31 Nights of Halloween!  This is the best event of the year!  There are heaps of fa-boo-lous Halloween inspiration and prizes to be won!  So - stick around until the end of this post to see how you can enter!

I have used one of my favourite images Goth Girl Clear Stamps by Deb Davis (Amped2Stamp) and the boo-tiful new paper pack Hocus Pocus.

I thought it would be fun to make a little treat bag!  Here are some quick instructions.

Create a 10cm x 30cm strip of black card and score and fold it horizontally at 13cm and 17 cm.

on both ends - make a mark on each side 8cm up from the fold and a mark halfway across the top at 5cm.

Cut the ends into points, punch a hole and round them slightly.  Cut a piece of designer paper to fit to the outside of the box when folded, as shown below.

Create a 13cm x 13cm rectangle of black card and cut it in half diagonally making two triangles.  Score the triangles 1cm in from each edge.  Cut a piece of designer paper the same size and then trim it to fit inside the triangles.

Fix the longest scored edge of the triangles to the back of the stripey panel.

Then fix them across the front of the panel with a row of glue dots along the bottom edge.

So - I'm a muppet because I completely forgot to take a pic of the triangles folded and fixed across the front of the stripey panel but hopefully you can get the idea from pic of the finished treat bag!  Please feel free to contact me if you want me to explain further!

I decorated the bag with strip of black card, a skull die cut from the Dracula's Coffin Die Set and a sentiment from the Goth Girl stamp set stamped and heat embossed onto a Tombstone Tag Die.

I stamped and cut out Goth Girl (with my Scan n Cut) and coloured her with Copics:
Skin E04, E21, E00, E000
Hair BV04, N4, N6, N8 100
Clothes V17, V15, V12, R17, RVV, G28, G24, G21

Finally I fixed her to the finished gift bag!  The 'gift' is candy corn in a cello bag which is fixed to the back panel of the bag with Glue Dots!  I have to say that sentiment is just PERFECT and sums me up most days!!! (:

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 27

Hi, it's Candice with you this evening!  I really hope you all have been enjoying the daily dose of Halloween on the Whimsy Blog this month and have been inspired to create!  I am going to continue the Halloween fun today by sharing a Happiest of Haunts slimline card with you!

I began my card by creating an 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base which fits perfectly into the size 9A envelopes.

I first stamped the Happiest of Haunts stamp and heat embossed in black along the bottom of my card.  I then stamped it again on masking paper and trimmed to mask the image.

Next, I created the background using Rusty Hinge, Ripe Persimmon, Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw.  I splatter it with black and white paint using a damp paint brush and then removed the mask.

While I let that dry, I die cut the bats from grey and black velvet paper and the moon & stars from gold foil paper.  The moon I created by cutting twice with a stitched circle die.

I water colored the images with Tombow markers and Copic markers for her skin.

To finish the card, I added the layered Halloween with purple velvet as the top layer.

I hope you and your kids are all ready for Halloween in a few days and maybe feel inspired to create one last Halloween card before putting it all away until next year!

Happy Halloween to all my crafty friends, and I will see you next month as we begin all our scrambling to get our Christmas cards done!

Don't forget to enter in the Grand Prize giveaway, the link is at the end of my post!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 26 - Special Guest Jen Shults

Hi everyone! It's Jen Shults with you, and I am so excited to be back again for another night of Whimsy Stamps' 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration!! I am so in love with all of the adorable Halloween stamps from Whimsy that I actually have two projects to share with you tonight.

My first card features this adorable zombie from Boo To You. I started by stamping the zombie on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink and coloring him with Copics. I fussy cut him and set him off to the side.

To build the background I used a rectangle masking stencil to ink blend the rectangle with Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink. I then splattered with water and the same inks. I used my Score Pal to score lines around the rectangle and the edge of the card. I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment with a banner die and adhered it to the background with foam tape, then I attached the zombie overlapping the banner, again with foam tape.

My second card uses the super adorable Going Catty clear stamp set. There are so many cute stamps in this set - I can't wait to use the scaredy cat!

To start my card I stamped the pumpkin cat on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Markers. Next I fussy cut the image and set it aside to start the background.

I cut an A2 medium grey cardbase and used a spider web stencil to ink a subtle spider web on the cardbase. I cut two deckle edge rectangles, one from light grey and one from black cardstock. I stenciled a brick texture on the light grey with light grey ink. For the circle behind the cat I die cut a stitched circle and blended purple ink over the circle in a dark to medium gradient. I stamped the sentiment on the light grey and assembled the card with foam tape.
