Hello friends! Michele here! I am so excited to participate in Whimsy Stamp's 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration! So much goodness right here each and every night in October! AND....there are prizes to be won too! ;) More about today's contest at the end of this post.
For my card I used Flying Cat Witch. Because honestly, who doesn't think a flying cat on a broom is adorable?
I stamped the kitty and then masked it so I could create the moonlit background. I cut a circle and used both the positive and negative space to ink the background using Tim Holtz Distress inks in purple and yellow. I peeled the mask off and brought the cat to life using Polychromo pencils.
For the purple panel, I used Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles and layered everything using Crafty Foam Tape. I added a green and white twine and alphabet letters to spell out the word, BOO. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory to add a few "stars" to the background.
Would you like to win a $15.00 Gift Certificate for Whimsy Stamps? Just comment below telling us if you dress up for Halloween and if you do, what are you dressing as? A random winner will be selected on Halloween night!
And in case you were wondering...yes, I am dressing up for Halloween. I am a 4th grade teacher and the students absolutely LOVE that the teachers dress up. So what am I going to be?
Little Bo Peep from Toy Story!

SO fun!!
ReplyDeleteNot eligible for prize...but YES of course I will dress up Halloween is my favorite! I wear all kinds of Halloween attire the entire month of October.
ReplyDeleteI am volunteering at a Halloween night for kids. A safe place for them to come get their candy and show off their costumes. I haven't decided about the costume.
ReplyDeleteCute card. Love the colors and the little "boo" sentiment. It's easy to spot Dustin's nice illustrations. [Bunny]`
What a fun card! Love the image and the coloring!
ReplyDeleteNot sure yet if I'll be dressing up for Halloween, but the costume I have on hand is a bat costume. It has sparkly wings with lots of orange glitter, and a headband with some pointy ears. It's an easy costume to wear because I just slip the wings on over a black t-shirt and black pants. I used to wear it to work every year for Halloween.
Yes! I always dress up with my puppy Maddie! We are being Unicorns this year! Darling kitty card!
ReplyDeleteCute. I like the colors and the BOO beads. No I don't dress up for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteI adore your project and am totally drooling over the new release! No u am not dressing up, however my fur babies get all dolled up to greet our trick or treaters. They go as tigger and piglet!

I used to dress up when I was an elementary teacher. (My favorite costume was a purple crayon.) When I was a middle school teacher, I wore cute Halloween sweaters the whole week of Halloween. Now I'm retired and still have a collection of Halloween clothes that I wear in October.
ReplyDeleteI live in New Zealand and we don't really do Halloween here much, although it is starting to be a bigger thing especially for the kids. However, in saying that we do have an annual kids Halloween fun night at the dojo (karate) that my daughter and I belong to. Usually there is a theme amongst us adults and last year I dressed up as a scarecrow.
ReplyDeleteCute! An Dorable card. Its interesting reading everyone elses comments about hLloween in other parts of the world, im in the US. Thank you Ll for sharing your traditions with us.
ReplyDeleteI don't dress up for Halloween, but my grown sons still enjoy it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour cat looks as if it is having a great time flying around on the broom! Cute card!
Oh no!! Another totally awesome release that I MUST have!? Take all my $$! And I'm dressing up as a gypsy fortune teller...a really poor one.
ReplyDeletesuper card - love the gleeful look on the cat's face!!
ReplyDeleteMy go to costume is being a witch - love putting on the green makeup and facial moles:)
The kitty is really cute...and enjoying his ride!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that I do dress up. This year I will probably be a motorcyclist
ReplyDeleteCute card! I absolutely love the expression on the cat's face. :) I do dress up for Halloween. I have a witch's costume complete with tall pointed hat. It is such fun to see the faces of our trick or treaters when I open the door. :) Of course I am a "good" witch because I am holding a large cauldron of candy to give out. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card! I love Halloween. This year I'm dressing up as a witch
ReplyDeleteThat kitty is so cute. Fab card. I will be dressing up as a witch. Got my outfit all sorted already bwahahhaaaa. Hugz
ReplyDeleteI don't dress up anymore
ReplyDeleteQuite the masking accomplishment to create your fabulous moon for your awesome kitty who is, indeed, adorable! My dressing up days ended when I retired from teaching, but given it's likely to be freezing here, I'll be 'dressing up' in some cozy fleece tights, warm sweater and 'silly' bear feet slippers!

ReplyDeleteits super great card!
This is just darling! And hysterical.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't dress up for Halloween anymore, but
it sure was fun as a kid.
The card is so adorable, I just love kitty cats and this one is too cute! As far as Halloween, umm a big YES, I dress up. As a preschool teacher, I'm pretty sure it's a requirement! And I love it! This year, I am all into superheros and choose Gwen Stacy, the Spider-Woman.
ReplyDeleteI always dress up for Halloween and any time before Halloween that I can! Probably as a banshee or witch!
ReplyDeleteI think your card is great and I really like the colors! What a scardy cat!
Sweet card. I don't dress up for Halloween.
ReplyDeleteYay, what fun! We usually dress up at work and have a fall festival. I work with children with disabilities and usually work the craft table. One year, I made my own costume and was a jelly fish, and had a small jellyfish that I carried with me. It was hilarious! Your card is adorable, by the way! Terri Burson
ReplyDeleteBOO-tiful card!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your witchy kitty and layers!
We don't go out for Halloween but I do dress up as a wicked witch to welcome all the little (and not-so-little) treaters (no tricks here) with fun handmade Halloween treat boxes filled with individually wrapped treats :)
I love to dress up for Halloween. I haven't yet decided for certain this year, but I might just go with an orange and black ensemble. Although, I was tempted by a sandworm costume from Beetlejuice, so it is still possible that I could change my mind. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I enjoy dressing up and make my costumes each year. This year I'm dressing as a belle of the masquerade ball.
ReplyDeletewow, amazing card, I love it.
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't dress up for Halloween but we do decorate the house and make cards with kids.
