Hello Whimsy friends, Iris here. Are you all ready for Christmas? Just one more day. To shorten the waiting time a bit I want to share one more card with you. On this card I used several different coloring media as well as a combination of several Whimsy stamps. Coloring media I used: Karin Brushmarker Pro, Copics, colored pencils and watercolor pencils as well as some white acrylic paint.
I stamped the images ( Very Mice Christmas, Mason Jar, Christmas Postcard) using the masking technique onto Strathmore white mixed media paper with a hybrid ink. The evergreen bough was colored using Karin Brushmarker Pro pens. These pens are liquid ink filled and very juicy. It's water based ink and coloring with these markers is like a charm. They are available in the store for a fantastic low price! Check it out HERE. The mice and candy cane were colored using Karin Brushmarker Pro pens, Copics and colored pencils. On the mason jar I used Copics, colored pencils for the lid and jingle bells and watercolor pencils for the glass.
To enhance the glass look on the jar I wanted to add some white acrylic paint. To make sure I wont ruin my colored image while adding the acrylic paint I had to seal it. I did not want to risk any smears from the ink of the brush markers. I used Tim Holtz Distress Glaze to seal my image and it worked well. After it was sealed I used a flat brush to add some light, soft strokes of white acrylic paint to achieve a glass look.
For the background I used red cardstock and the Tartan Plaid background stamp. I stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. The sentiment is included with the Christmas Postcard stamp set.
