Candice here and I'm happy to be sharing my first post with you as an official Whimsy DT member! Have you all been enjoying this fabulous new July release?! Today I have a sweet welcome-baby, slim-line card for you, underwater style!
Lately slim line cards have become my favorite and are easier than you think. To create an
8 1/2 x 3 1/2 card base, you trim an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock to 8 1/2 x 7, and you will even be left with a piece to fit on the front! The envelope size is 9A and can be purchased at your local craft store or online.
Now, to get to the fun stuff! I took the extra piece and heat embossed the center with the Curly Q's background stamp in poly sparkle and the Congrats in white. I then lightly inked with Tumbled Glass distress ink.
I used the awesome new Build an Ocean die set to create the scene by inking them lightly with oxide inks in twisted citron, milled lavender, & dried marigold.
Next, I stamped the adorable Baby Sea Creatures with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic markers, accented with a white pen and fussy cut out.
For my final touches, I added a variety of sequins and Wink of Stella to the bubbles for a little bit of shine. If you haven't seen the Sparkletz yet, you will fall in love with these to add shine and detail to your projects!
I hope you are inspired to try a slim line card and share with us at Whimsy Stamps Inspiration on Facebook!
Thank you!
Candice
