Tuesday Tutorial with Michele

Hello Whimsy Friends!
Michele here! I have a couple of cards to share with you using some of Whimsy's  Slimline dies. (Slimline Stars and Slimline Hearts) I am a pretty literal person, and tend to use products in the way that they were originally intended. I love the look of these when used as actual dies, but I thought it might be a fun change to use them as an embossed image instead. :)

When running through your embossing machine, you want the die on the bottom, cardstock on top of it.

Place your rubber mat over the paper/die.  You may have to "loosen" up your die cutting machine, as this is pretty thick.  I crank it through twice, to get a deep impression.

This is the result.  I love the texture it gives!!

I decided to use Whimsy's adorable Slimline Birthday Scallops Die.  I cut the candles with various colors of card stock and gave them a bit of ink blending for some added depth.

I popped up the candles using 3D Foam Squares.

I used the insides of the candles for a confetti background.  Added a bit of ribbon, flowers and leaves from the Build-a-Pumpkin Patch Die set.

The sentiments are part of the Simple Sentiment Strips Clear Stamps.  They were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white.

Here's another card using the Slimline Hearts Background Die.  I adhered the embossed panel over grey card stock and added the Smile sentiment and a few flowers from the new Slimline Meadow Die set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
