31 nights of Halloween - Night 12

I hope you have had a chance to enjoy the first 11 nights of these fun and inspiring posts from the Whimsy DT and Guest DT.  If you haven't, be sure and catch up on the first 11 posts.  Did you see there are over $350.00 in prizes being given away at the end of the month?  Yes, you heard me right, $350.00!

For my post I am using one of the two stamps that Whimsy will be giving away from the commenters on this post.

This stamp Country Porch looks like a welcoming trick-or-treat spot don't you think?  The warm glow from the window, with the fall leaves all around and a few welcoming Jack-o-lanterns too.

When I created this card I wanted to add dimension.  Seeing as its a larger card front image I thought it would be prefect to pop the different layers up.  If you look closely, I have 3 layers on the tree, and the house has two layers.

If you see this in person it is a "wow, cool!" moment.  What a perfect fall card.  Great for Thanksgiving, Halloween or anyone who enjoys a little bit of country.

~ 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration - Night 24 ~

Hi everyone and welcome to Day 24 of Whimsy Stamp's 2nd Annual 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration!  I am sharing with you again the card I made using my all time favorite stamp, Hot Sip, from the DoveArt's line of rubber stamps.  This stamp is so versatile and can be used with many different techniques.  I've chosen paper piecing and embossing for this Halloween project.

I first stamped the Hot Sip image onto pattern paper and then trimmed around the image and cut out the inside of the handle.  I then inked and stamped the steam with a sandy colored pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I cut a slit into the top of the image and slid the steam down into it and taped it to the back of the cup to keep it in place.  I added Snow Cap White Dimensional Fabric Paint from Tulip to make the  whipped cream and added vintage glass glitter for some chocolate bits for my latte.  Yummm!  To make the coffee cup look curved I first inked around the edges of the cup to give it some depth and shadow and adhered it to my card using different heights of dimensional foam tape so it would stay curved on my card.
