Get Well Pig

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

It's that time of the year; colds and other bleurgh bugs are doing the rounds. And it's fair to say, there may be a few sore heads the day after tomorrow ;)

The new Get Well Clear Stamp Set by Dustin Pike, is perfect for such occasions...

I've coloured this image with Karin Brushmarker Pros. Oh my word, these markers are gorgeous. They're watercolour and they play soooo nicely and don't even get me started on the fab brush nibs! Swooooooon.

And while I'm raving about these pens. Sparkly set. That's all I'm sayin'. You're welcome! Do you need them? Oh yes you do.

So, after I coloured this poor little chap, he's had a close shave with a pair of scissors and has gone to live on a card with a sentiment from the same set. I doodled a border underneath, but if you're not confident with that, the FaDoodles Stamp Sets could be the answer ;)

Chickadee & Berries with Alanna

Hi friends. Alanna here and I'm featuring the gorgeous Chickadee and Berries set from the DoveArt lineup of stamps.  I love this image so much and all the detail in it.

And it's that detail that allows for it to be colored up so easily.  For my card today, I stamped the image and then used the new Karin Brushmarker PRO markers to color it in.  I learned about these from my friend Iris and was so pleased to get my hands on them.

Note that I did stamp the image onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper as I've gotten the best results with that. These markers glide on so smoothly and are so highly pigmented. They were super fun to work with and I've been trying them out on other projects as well.

Whimsy Stamps just started carrying the full range of these markers individually so it's great if you want to just pick up a few of them to try them out.

For my card, I used the following colors:

After my coloring was done, I trimmed down the panel and added it to a black mat piece of card stock.  I heat embossed the sentiment which is from the Sleepy Sloths stamp set, trimmed it down and added it with some adhesive foam squares.  Some aqua gems finish off this card.

Here's a closeup of this gorgeous image.

I hope you've been inspired. Crafty hugs! ~ Alanna

Ellie and her Snowman

Hello Whimsy Friends, I hope you all had the most fabulous Christmas!

I'm back with my last Christmas card for the year and back to my frilly and foo-foo cards with this cute new Ellie's Snowman stamp from the latest release by Whimsy Stamps.  Isn't it just too skinking cute?

I used the delish papers from the 6 x 6 Cozy Winter Paper Pack and coloured the image with copic markers, picking out some of the colours in the papers.

Ellie: C3, 1, 0, 00; R30
Snowman and snow: BG10, 0000
Red: R37, 35, 83
Green: YG67, 63, 03
Hat: C9, 7, 5

I added a sentiment from the Christmas Ellie-ments clear stamp set and finished off with some poinsettias that I made from a piece of the aqua cardstock and the Lily Flower Die Set.  I used a copic marker to draw in the veining on the flowers before wetting and shaping them.  I also tried something different with the holly leaves from the Christmas Branch Die Set, I die cut them from white cardstock and coloured/shaded them with my copic markers to give a more realistic effect.  I LOVE how these turned out, well worth the extra few minutes they took.
