DIY: Christmas Ornament

Hello creative peeps! It's Ellen here!! In this post I like to share how I made an ornament with my favorite Whimsy Stamps dies: Sketched Elephants & Brush Script Lowercase Alphabet. I would love to show you the tutorial below.

1. Cut two hearts and letters out felt with dies. Of course you can use other shapes (e.g. a star). In my explanation I talk about the heart.

2. Make words with your letters and glue them down on the heart. I use "Glossy Accents" for it.

3. Start to sew the two hearts together. I used white treat, I wish I had red, because I'm not the best at sewing (hihi)...

4. Fold the ribbon in half and sew it securely between the hearts.

5. When you're almost all the way around, stop and fill the heart with wimps. Sew your heart further and tie the string onto the start point from the starting point of the wire.

Here you can see how mine looks:

I think its super fun to make with kids.

Ellie here :-)
For today's "12 Days of Christmas" project I created a "drawer box card" that would be perfect for presenting a little gift like jewelry or maybe a gift card.

I used the following Whimsy products:
Snowflake Fairy Princess
Winter Letter Seals
Snowflake border die

Here is a photo of just the easel card that I attached the to the drawer box.
Sorry I don't have a tutorial, but you can find a link to the tutorial and more details on how I made it on my blog along with a couple more photos. It's not very hard to make at all, just a bit of scoring and taping.

Hope you liked my Whimsy inspiration today :-)

Hello friends!  It's Vicki here with some more Christmas inspiration for you! :)
Something besides cards that I always love to make for the Holiday Season are ornaments!
They are fun to decorate your own tree with to match the colors you want or they also make great gifts too!

These are so fun and easy to make, you can tailor them to any color, design or even shape you want!  Want a way to use up those Christmas papers or even recycle those Christmas cards....these are a great way to do that!

Here are the Whimsy Stamps products I have used to create the smaller sized ornament with:

The Whimsy Stamps October 2015 Christmas Card Kit (sold out) - *Brand new card kits will be coming out next month...so be watching for details!*

Whimsy Stamps Stitched Circles Die Set - I used the next to last smallest

To thank you all for your continued support of Whimsy Stamps, the Whimsy design team are holding a fun Christmas event here on the blog in the run up to Christmas!

Every day from now 13th December to 24th December, a member or members of the design team will be sharing a brand new Whimsy holiday creation here on the Whimsy blog.  Included in these daily posts will be a LETTER.  Visit us every day, make a note of each letter and keep them safe.  Once you have collected all 12 letters, you should be able to unscramble them and make a special 3 word phrase.  Email your Guess to whimsystampscontests@gmail.com by 31st December 2015, and if you've guessed correctly, you will be entered into the draw to win a fantastic GRAND PRIZE!

But that's not all!  We will also be running some fun SPOT PRIZES throughout the entire event.  The prizes could be hidden here on the Whimsy blog or on our design team members blogs, or even on some of the Whimsy artists blogs, so be sure to leave a comment here and on the other blog posts each day to be in with a chance to win!

So without further ado, I will now hand you over to Cindy who is kicking off our event for us!  Don't forget to make a note of today's letter and to leave a comment here and on Cindy's Blog just in case today has a spot prize! Happy December everyone!

Hello Whimsy fans, Cindy here to share some super cute ideas to use with your stamps and dies. I have seen this on Pinterest and have always wanted to try it, so I finally did.....Salt dough ornaments or tags!! I used my stamps with some Distress ink and stamped right on the dough then baked them. You can also use your dies like a stamp to put an impression on the dough.

Please come over to my blog and I will share a lot more pictures and details. Hope you enjoy 'The 12 days of Christmas'!!

Cindy
