Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration Day 5

All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies!  Be sure to visit both companies’ blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!

It's Andrea with you for day 5 of this fun collaboration between Whimsy Stamps and Tombow.  I hope you've enjoyed this week as much as the designers have!  I, for one, have been blown away by all of the awesome projects this week!  Hopefully, I'll inspire you today as I have two cards to share with you.

My first card features the new Slimline Windows Die and the Penguin Farts and Penguin Poop stamp sets.  I first stamped those fun penguins with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with the new ABT PRO Markers from Tombow.  These markers are alcohol-based like Copics, and I was really impressed with how well they blend and how vivid the colors are.  After coloring the penguins, I cut them out (There are coordinating dies for Penguin Farts).

ABT PRO Markers: PN65, PN75, PN95, PN55, P905, P925, P933, P985, P991,
P491, P451, P452, P476, P555

I created a slimline cardbase (3.5" x 8.5") from white cardstock and die-cut the Slimline Windows Die from black cardstock.  I also die-cut some Chilly Designer Papers with the Slimline Windows Die.  Onto the solid papers, I white heat-embossed sentiments from both stamp sets.  After adhering the black frame to my card, I inlaid the smaller die-cuts.

I adhered my colored images to my card with foam tape.  I added highlights with a white gel pen and brushed clear sparkle over the ice and ice cream.  I coated the penguins' eyes with Glossy Accents and adhered a few snowflake sequins from the Snow Crystals Sparkletz sequin mix.

For my second card, I created a snowy scene with the Glitter Globe set and the Slimline Waves Die.
I first stamped those cute images from Glitter Globe with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then watercolored them with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.  Once my images were dry, I die-cut them with the coordinating dies and added details with a white gel pen.

Tombow Dual Brush Pens:
Trees - 173, 177, 969
Snowman - 291, 933, 565, N25, N95, 743
Penguin - N25, 933, 025, 845, 847, N95, 245, 249
Deer - 977, N95, 969, 803

I die-cut the Slimline Waves Die from white cardstock and trimmed a background panel the same dimensions of the frame.  I retained the negative pieces from the die-cut to create my snowy hills.  I placed each hill behind where I wanted it in my frame and used a pencil to mark the portion that extended below the window, trimming off the excess with scissors.  To create dimension between the die-cut hills and my background panel, I added Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I inked up the top of the background with Mermaid Lagoon for the sky.

I attached the trimmed-down hills to the back of my frame with liquid adhesive.  To account for the extra dimension of the cardstock hills, I die-cut a second frame, removed the inside slopes with scissors, and adhered it to the back of my original frame.  After adhering my background to a card with foam tape, I affixed my colored images.  I stamped a sentiment from Glitter Globe with Versafine Onyx Black ink, die-cut it with the Quick Strips Dies, and popped it onto my card with foam tape.  For some sparkle I brushed clear sparkle over the hills and added snowflakes die-cut from glitter cardstock with the Shaker Maker Glitter Globe Dies.

Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration Day 4

All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies! Be sure to visit both companies’ blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!

I decided to change things up a bit and make an all seasons type of card.  I used the Tombow Tropical Dual Brush Pen Art Markers to color these beautiful flowers from the Beaucoup Bouquet Clear Stamps Set.  I love the bold and vibrant coverage that these markers provide. I heat embossed my images with Fine Detail Black Embossing Powder onto a sheet of Ranger White Watercolor Paper.  I used a watercolor brush to move around my ink to add some subtle shading.

I then cut my images and set them aside to work on my background.  For my background, I blended some aqua watercolor with a large paintbrush.  I splattered this blend with some diluted Opaque White Paint as well as some diluted green watercolor paint for added interest.

Next, I heat embossed my sentiment from the Bunny Balloons 2 Clear Stamps Set onto a sheet of Black Card Stock.  Once set, I then used a paper trimmer to trim this piece down to size.  I added my flowers to the front of my card with some liquid adhesive to those that were in the background, and used 3D Foam Adhesive Squares for the ones that I wanted to pop up slightly in the foreground.

Whimsy Stamps and Tombow Collaboration, Day 2, Post 2

All week long, Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies! Be sure to visit both companies' blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways (see instructions below my project).

Welcome to Day 2, Post 2! Judy Rozema here to share a sweet CAS winter card using Tombow products and one of my favorite Whimsy Stamps stamp sets: Bundled Up.

To start my project, I stenciled snow on my Hammermill White cardstock using the Polka Dot Stencil, various light blue inks, and a blender brush. The snow is very subtle to not overpower the rest of the design.

Next I added drifts using one of the dies from the Stitched Border Die Trio and attached them to the card base with Tombow Adhesive Dots. I stamped my images with black ink, and then colored in using Tombow's ABT Pro Markers Green Tones, two markers from the Citrus Dual Brush Pen Art Markers, and Copics. The tree from the stamp set was off-stamped to give a little more depth and a lighter, snowy look.

The main panel was pierced around the edge and popped up using Tombow's Foam Tape. I added Crystal Stickles under my images for snow, and a few sequins attached with MONO Multi Liquid Glue for added sparkle. One of my Copics leaked (B00) as I was shadowing my girl's skirt, but you just go with it! Especially when it's the last thing you do! The card base is one of the fun papers from the Whimsy Stamps' Chilly 6x6 pack. Simple and sweet and mailable!

I hope you continue to join us this week as we share more inspiration using the Tombow products!
