Hi, crafty friends! It's Cassie here, from Creatively Cass, and I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Whimsy Stamps for the month of September!! I have a bunch of fun projects to share with you using their great stamps and products this month, and today's card is just the start :)
I know we're kicking off September, but my brain is still stuck on summer! So when I saw this cute penguin lounging on a donut floaty from the Lazy Days of Summer stamp set I knew I had to color it up, and put it on a card. I started by stamping the image on some 110 lb white card stock and colored it with my Copic markers. It was so fun to color this image in because it's so cute and there are so many different color combos you could go with. Once it was all colored in I fussy cut it out, and set it aside.
Next I took some more A2 size panels of my 110 lb white card stock. I used my Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxides to ink blend over the three panels. I did my best to give them an ombre look so that the color was darker at the bottom and faded to white towards the top. Of course, I had to spritz them all with water to get the distressed splatters look. I wanted the different ink blended panels to look like waves, so I took the Wavy Edgers die set to die cut these cute waves.
The wave pieces were adhered with a tape runner, and the penguin was adhered on top with foam tape. I used the Happy Headlines stamp set to heat emboss 'choose happy' on the Blueprint Sketch piece. To add a fun pop of color I adhered a couple of the Summer Breeze enamel dots around the donut. Finally, I added some white gel pen accents and Glossy Accents to finish it off. And that's it for my first post for Whimsy Stamps! I hope you enjoyed the card I had for today, and I can't wait to share what else I've created for this month! Thanks so much for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteThis is totally adorable, great background and love the "shine" you achieved on the image. Thanks for a great special guest post for us!
