Hi Whimsy fans! Crissy here on Day 20 of the "31 Nights of Hallowe'en"!!
I have a fun little game to play and it could mean free Whimsy product for you!
All I want you to do is comment below with the name of your favourite candy from Hallowe'en, from your childhood! If you didn't trick or treat as a kid, then just tell me your favourite scary movie!!
My favourite candy was the Sweet Tarts! Omygosh, mouth is currently watering, even as I type it out, LOL!!!
My favourite scary movie has to be Jurassic Park! I have a memory of hiding behind the couch when the kitchen scene came on - me and my daughter immediately hid behind the couch and only peeked at the screen when we felt we were able to handle it, LOL! Yes, I did that, as a grown woman!! ROFL
If you comment on this post and tell me your favourite candy (or scary movie) you will automatically be entered into a draw, and one person's name will be chosen to receive one of the following:
A free Crissy Armstrong rubber image of your choosing from Whimsy Stamps
OR
A free Crissy Armstrong clear stamp set of your choosing from Whimsy Stamps
OR
Three free Crissy Armstrong Digital images of your choice from Whimsy Stamps
You have until 11:59pm on October 30th to enter!
The lucky winner will be announced here on Halloween Night!
The lucky winner will be announced here on Halloween Night!
Anyway, onto my card...
I used my rubber image, "Kitties On Halloween"
I coloured it using multi-media. I started with Copics, and then used some distress inks and some coloured pencil. I did some sponging on the sky to get the glow around the moon. I used the distress inks like watercolours, and used a thin water colour brush to do the grass strands.
The paper is by the wonderful Tracy Wray of Whimsy. It is digital paper from her "Haunted Halloween" pack 1
I am IN LOVE with Tracy's papers, and I just feel so empowered that I can download and print out what ever sheets I want, and as many times as I want when I get one of her packs of digital paper! It is a dream to be able to do this at home with my own printer! Saves loads of space too!
Layering is a breeze also, because I can layer it in my word program! No more need to carefully cut layers!! Can you tell I love this stuff??? ;-)
Here's a close-up of the image:
I hope you will have fun playing with Halloween images this month! Check out all the Halloween goodies at Whimsy HERE!
Enjoy!
A really cute card Crissy, love those kitties and the scene you made for them!
ReplyDeleteI didn't go trick or treating as a child (I lived in Europe and it wasn't a custom back then), so I am sharing my favorite scary movie. I don't watch too many scary movies, but I do have a favorite and it's "The Others" with Nicole Kidman.
Thanks for a chance to win!
Cute coloring, Crissy! I'm with you. I went crazy for Sweet Tarts! Why, I wonder? I don't like them now, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love this cute card. Especially the cat with the patches. And that spider crawling around. Love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite candy back then was Three Musketeers. I did like the sweet tarts, too. They came 4 to a pack. Oh, and I liked the whoppers. Okay, we didn't get much candy when I was a kid so Halloween was the best fun night of all for me and my brothers. Eww, I never did like when I got the bit o honey. Buy my brothers loved it so we'd trade. [Bunny]

ReplyDeleteLove this card, Crissy and the PP are so perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteDidn't go trick or treating as a child BUT when I going trick or treating my kids , I pinch their milk duds - can't get enough of them LOL!!!
My favourite candy is chocolate coated ginger
ReplyDeleteLove your delightful Kitties On Halloween card! Great colors and details! Love the way you colored the kitties!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite candy... Hershey bars. And if we were really lucky, a few houses gave out the full sized bars!
One Halloween movie I love is a Disney TV movie called Mr. Boogedy! It was a favorite of my daughter's when she was young, and I still have a tape of it!
Of course we trick-or-treated; it was one of the highlights of the year for all children when I grew up; like Christmas and 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteFave candy? Hmmmm... they used to make something called a Mars bar (not the version you find in The Tube - much, much better). This one had nougat, almonds, caramel, and, of course, chocolate; it was really fabulous!!! And I have a fave movie too - The Mummy - the one with Brendan Frasier and Rachel Weisz!
That's a tough question for a chocoholic like me! haha I love Kit Kats, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Heath bars, Almond Joy, etc. But I guess I would choose the Kit Kat first.
ReplyDeleteYour kitties are so darling! Adorable card.
The "Kitties On Halloween" card is super adorable!
ReplyDeleteAs for favorite Halloween candy, I loved Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Hersey's Chocolate bars, and Heath bars. As for favorite Halloween movie, The Mummy and Scream.
Candy Apples and Smarties and Chicklets gum were my favourite candies to get. (I don think I spelled that right) Anyway. I didn't like to share or trade those three.
ReplyDeleteI love Kitties!!! I would so colour this!
candy kisses and thrills gum
ReplyDeleteIndian Candy Corn. Just a touch of chocolate. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do Halloween as a kid. My favourite scary movie is Pan's Labyrinth.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the way you've coloured the cats -they're gorgeous!
Reese's... snickers.. anything with peanuts... lol I'd be happy to get your card!!
ReplyDeleteCute card. My favorite candy was Butterfingers.

Oh my gosh !! This is such a great Halloween card !! These cats are so cool ! About your candy question, I can't answer because in France we don't really celebrate Halloween (and it was barely known in my childhood !). So I'd say my favorite scary movie is The Exorcist.
ReplyDeleteI'm a cat lover and these kittens on Halloween are super adorable! Just gorgeous! I looked for those pixie stick straws in my trick or treat bag!
ReplyDeleteFabulous image on your gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite candy is anything chocolate!
Valerija xx
Such an awesome cat, loving this card!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a cool card. Favourite movies revenge of the wererabbit. Oh wait, not really scary. Ummm,, beetlejuice. Hugz
ReplyDeleteI loved the Carmel’s
ReplyDeleteChocolate with hazelnuts...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Crissy. Love your marmalade moggie! Halloween wasn't a thing in New Zealand when I was small. But my kiddos love the popping candy and because I'm a total fraidy-cat, I don't do horror movies. But a thriller that stayed with me for the longest time was 'silence of the lambs', truly spooky! I prefer my kids favourite Halloween movie which is Scared Shrekless. That big green guy is so funny 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteReeses Peanut Butter Cups
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness those cats are soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Halloween candy is Rockets. Sort of like Sweet Tarts which I loved as a kid as well.
I am not really a fan of scary movies...I would be behind the couch with you and NOT peeking...but I would have to say Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds". I can shudder just thinking about it. Cheers.
Wonderful card. I love the cats! :)
ReplyDeleteHelloween isn't (very) popular here, so I've never done trick-or-treating. And to be honest I'm not a big fan of horror/scary movies. But I did like The silence of the lambs. Anythony Hopkins was amazing. And another horror movie that I can't get of my head (no matter how much I want to) in The mothman prophecies. It still gives me goosebumps.
My favorite candy as a kid was big hunk. I still like them and get them when go on trips. I call it my traveling candy.
ReplyDeleteAdorable card, Crissy! I love kitties! I only went trick-or-treating once but I went every year when my kids were little - LOL! So, my favourite candy was KitKat! Lori P xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic stamp with the kitty cats! Great coloring and card.
ReplyDeleteI love Payday candy bars but the only time I buy
ReplyDeletethem is at Halloween. Don't know why that is.
Most times I eat Snickers or the mini-hershey bars.
Love the card. The kitties are so cute.
thanks for sharing.
