Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday! This is Jeanette and I am happy to share a card using one the the new August release from Whimsy Stamps!

This image is named "Honeycomb" designed by Elisabeth Bell - This is a special edition rubber stamp, created exclusively for Whimsy Stamps. Special edition stamps will only be available for a limited time.

I colored this sweet image up usingPolychromos pencils and copic markers and then fussy cut it out.  I created the bottom portion of the card my stamping the Gingham Background stamp with Broken China. I used my Misti tool so that I could stamp it mutlitple times and ensure a crisp and even background.

I diecut some Neenah cardstock using one of the dies from the Wavy Edgers Die Set. I love that there is a stitched and scallopped edge with these dies. It is such a nice look.  I stamped the sentiment from the Everyday Scripted Sentiments using the same ink that was used to create the Gingham background. This ties the top and the bottom of the card together. Finally, I used some Summer Breeze Enamel Dots to scatter over the top part of the card.  I used yellow ones to match the daffodils!

Mazarine Butterfly Fairy

Hi Everyone and welcome back! I want to ask you a question today: What inspires you when coloring or crafting? I think we all fall into slumps and lose some of our crafting mojo once in a while. So how do we pull ourselves out of it? Well, I was super busy the last couple weeks with my kids heading back to school, and honestly, I was in a creative fog. Seriously, I had nothing!

So I wandered into the craft room, and I began by cleaning and organizing for a few minutes. Then I pulled my Whimsy stamps and die tub out, and started flipping through - just to see what caught my eye... And there was ... Mazarine! A sweet little fairy stamp I purchased a couple of months ago, and from the moment I first saw her I thought she looked like a cute ladybug with her wings ready to take flight and spread special wishes with her magic wand.

Now, I'm going to admit that I am a little intimidated by coloring with Copics, because I just started practicing in the last year or so. Two of the most challenging color families are reds and blacks, and of course a ladybug is, well,  red and black. So again I needed a little inspiration; Pinterest to the rescue! (You can see my Inspirational Images board HERE.) I found an adorable picture of a ladybug taking flight with her wings spread, and that was all of the inspiration I needed to begin coloring my Mazarine.

 So what do you think? The card techniques are pretty basic, so I won't go into the steps today. I mostly wanted to begin the conversation of how we find inspiration. Do you look for pictures? Christmas Pups in a Basket

Hi to everyone!  Laine here with a card featuring the cute digital stamp Pups in a Basket by Crissy Armstrong.  It makes a beautiful Christmas card and is perfect for many other occasions.  Anniversary, birthday, new arrival, new home.  I am sure you have many more ideas!

I printed the stamp onto kraft paper.   Coloured with pencils, to create depth and fur texture.  Then fussy cut and mounted onto digital paper from the fabulous Christmas Cool mix papers.  Further papers from the collection have been resized and printed.   Cut to fit the shaped card base and die cut poinsettia.

West Highland Terrier - by Sabrina

Hello friends, today I show you my new card with the nice guy West Highland Terrier - Digital Stamp

I colored with the Nuvo Marker Pens, with the Cameo Silhoutte I cut out the house and the word Love.

I cut out with white cardboard on which I created the background with the use of a stencil and the distress, I then glued the house, the writing and the West Highland Terrier - Digital Stamp

To complete my card I added the dots with the Nuvo Crystal Drops ... my card with West Highland Terrier - Digital Stamp

  is ready !!!
