I absolutely love making black and white cards...they make such an elegant statement!  The train image in June's Paper Door Kit from Whimsy Stamps called "Enjoy the Journey" really looks beautiful in this color scheme.  I think it just might be my favorite out of all the cards I made from this kit!

Without further ado, let me share another one of the projects I created with this amazing kit.

 I stamped the train image onto the ivory cardstock in the kit, using versamark watermark ink. I then heat embossed this with white embossing powder.

I added some of the Stormy Sky distress crayon over the center of the image and using a water brush pen to move the ink over the image. This was not stamped on watercolor paper, so I tried not to go over and over the image with water. I then wiped over the embossing with a paper towel to remove any color that may be on the image.

I stamped the sentiment from the set on top of the panel once the watercoloring had dried fully.

I added this panel to some of the navy blue shimmer cardstock in the kit.

I finished the card off with the jute and copper colored brads. This was then adhered to a side folding A2 card using the ivory cardstock in the kit.

Without further ado, let me share another one of the projects I created with this amazing kit.

I made a side folding A2 card using the kraft cardstock in the kit.

 I used the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment stamp from the set with Versamark Watermark ink on some kraft cardstock. I didn't add clear embossing powder this time, as i wanted a softer, more subtle look to the background. I love the tone-on-tone effect you get when you just use the watermark ink to create your own background. 

I cut this panel at an angle and adhered it to the copper shimmer cardstock from the kit. I added a thin strip to the base too. I added some of the copper colored brads from the kit and then adhered this onto a brown textured cardstock panel.

I stamped the Happy birthday sentiment onto some dark brown cardstock from the kit and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then hand cut this into a banner shape. I felt it needed a border around it, but didn't want to use the copper cardstock again. I decided to use the tissue paper that the kit came wrapped in!!! Never throw anything away! This worked perfectly! I popped this banner up on foam tape to finish the card off.

One of the things I absolutely love about the Paper Door Kits from Whimsy Stamps is the card stock you receive and the new kit called "Enjoy the Journey" is no different.  The card stock in this kit is so beautiful!  I just had to use the ones that look like tapestry and leather.  They really make this card look elegant. When you order a Paper Door Kit, you also receive digital downloads for other paper you can print out that goes along with the theme of your kit.  I printed out the navy map paper and embossed the train with black detail embossing powder on top of it, which along with the beautiful card stock really gives this card a lot of texture!
