Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorial ~ Digital Magic with Claudia

Welcome Whimsy friends!
I'm so happy that you should visit today,
as we have another fabulous digital team tutorial for you!!

Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorials!

The lovely Claudia from our Digital Team has created an utterly fantastic step through
digital tutorial for you! There were quite a number of requests when she shared
this beautiful creation in our Whimsy Facebook Group, with folks wanting
to know how she pulled off this stunning little trick of magic!

So Claudia has put together a step by step tutorial to share with us all,
just exactly how this incredibly clever design was created.

(Don't you just love the striking contrast and rich colours?!)

Claudia used the adorable Cupcake Treat
from our sweet Wee Stamps Digital Collection.
This sweet stamp is also available as a Rubber Stamp,
but to follow along with this tutorial, you're going to want the Digital version.

Check out the video above to see how Claudia took this sweet image from this 'no lines' design
through to the finished design full of colour and magic!

Such a striking finish on the black, but check out the options in the video for combining this with
digital paper designs too! Claudia shows you all these options.

I just love this finished design, the richness of these colours against the black background,
the colours really POP! A stunning design, you can now have a go creating too.

Huge thanks to our amazing Digital Diva Claudia Meier for this fabulous Digital Tutorial!

We hope you will enjoy creating along with Claudia's awesome tutorial and remember
to share your creation if you give this a go after watching her fabulous video.
We'd love for you to share it in our Facebook Group, so we can join the fun.
You can also tag Claudia there, to ask any questions you may have.

We will of course be back again next month with another fabulous Digital Team Tutorial!
So be sure you stop back then, there's always so much to see and inspiration to be had
here on the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog.

The Digital Divas will be back next Sunday with our last showcase for June
which will include the gorgeous line up from our talented Guest Designer.
Then it will be time to share the July New Release with you!
Have a wonderful week and happy creating xoxo

Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorial ~ Colouring with Deni

Welcome Whimsy friends!
I'm so happy that you should visit today,
as we have another fabulous digital team tutorial for you!!

Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorials!

The lovely Denielle from our Digital Team has created
an amazing Copic Marker colouring tutorial for you,
using one of our sweet Wee Stamps digital images.
There's even a sheet for you to print off
with Copic Colour details!

Now I'll hand the blogpost over to Deni...

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing with you a real time video for Whimsy Stamps colouring up Iris from the Wee Stamps collection. The image is available in Digital format and also as a Rubber Stamp. I have both of them linked up at the bottom of this post in the thumbnail links.

This is such a stunning image to colour up and I hope you will come and colour along with me (you can find the colouring video at the end of this post and a direct link if you prefer to watch directly on my You Tube Channel here.

I printed the image out onto X-Press It Blending Cardstock using my Brother Laser Printer - Laser Printers are completely Copic Marker safe and will not allow for any bleeding of the image.

To assist in the real time colouring video I mapped out exactly what colours I was going to use and where I was going to use them on this image. Hopefully this Direct Link works to the download as I have never done this before.

Copic Markers Used

Hair E74, E77, E79
Flowers R81, R83, R85
Scarf E31, E33, E35, E37
Skin ~ E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Dress V20, V22, V25, R81, R83, R85
Pants B93, B95, B97, R81, R83, R85
Wings B01, B02, B04, Y21, Y23, Y26

I began with colouring the skin on the image, I used E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20 for this area of the image.

Moving on to the hair, I used E74, E77, E79, this is my favourite blend for darker hair tones. I worked the hair in chunks rather than doing a flicking motion, meaning I coloured up each of the sections one by one.

Next up I coloured the scarf, I wanted it to pop off the image a little but still blend so I decided to go with a brown combo - E31, E33, E35, E37.

I coloured the pants up as a denim type look so went with B33, B95, B97 and used R81, R83, R85 for the flowers on them as I was planning on using those pinks on the image elsewhere and that would help bring all the details together.

I continued using the pink blend from above - R81, R83, R85 and coloured up all the flowers on the image, this is my most used pink blend of markers and one of the first ever blends of markers I used.

Next I began colouring up her dress, I used some V Markers - V20, V22, V25, they give a nice lilac/mauve type tone and I used the pink markers above to colour the strap on her dress.

Moving on to her wings, I went with yellow and blue, I used Y21, Y23, Y26 to give a nice golden yellow rather than a bright yellow. For the blues I had originally planned to use 3 markers however I ended up only using 2 - the B01, B02, the section to colour was only small and when I started laying the colour down I realised it was going to be unnecessary to add the third marker into the mix. I had planned to go back with my white gel pen and add the white dots back in however I completely forgot and did not do this - I will more than likely add these when I start putting my card together.

I used my 0 Colorless Blender marker to fix up any areas that need the colour pushed back in, then I used it to add some dotted detail to the wings.

Finally I used my Uni-Ball White Gel pen to add details to the image, this always makes an image look completed.

I thank you all so much for reading my post and I hope you will pop on over to my You Tube Channel and Watch the colouring process and colour along with me. Remember you don't have to use the same markers as me, they are there as a guideline only. Use what you have and make it you :-) I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

I adore this sweet tag Madeleine created with the cute Kitty Balloon by Crissy Armstrong.
The softness of the elements and her incredible colouring on that kitty, are just the sweetest!

Madeleine's second creation used the super cute image Grant from our Pollycraft Collection.
This is just adorable and those balloons, how fabulous are they?! I just love this creation!

Madeleine's final creation is utterly swoon worthy! I just love this gorgeous design.
She has used the sweet Wee Stamps image Frog Prince to create this beautiful romantic card.

Thank you Madeleine for designing with us in February.
We really love your beautiful creations!

Now it's time to share the most wonderful tutorial,
created by our talented Digital Diva Hester,
using the Kinetic Elements Dies, so let's check it out!

Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorials!

Hester's tutorial is a step by step tutorial available in full here via this link.
You can download and print the tutorial and use it as a guide.
Please if you give this a go, be sure to share it with us,
on the Whimsy Stamps Facebook Page,
and be sure to tag Hester!

Hester is using an image from the beautiful charity set created recently by our talented Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong. This set is available for a limited time and has been created to help all the animals affected by the Australian wildfires. The set consists of 5 animal images and 1 coordinating sentiment sheet. All proceeds from the sale of this digital stamp set will benefit WIRES - Emergency Fund for Wildlife. This set is only available for a limited time. When you purchase you are helping care for the animals affected by the wildfires in Australia.

Hester has created a beautiful design that echoes the famous
Ayers Rock or Uluru near Australia's Alice Springs

Here is the beautiful finished card design that Hester created which uses the Whimsy Stamps
No-See Kinetic Basics Die Set to slide the Kangaroo and her Joey back and forth across the card.

What you need:
Cardstock - light blue, red-brown, green and yellow ochre
Whimsy Stamps No-See Kinetic Basics Die Set
Whimsy Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set
Love for Australia Set - Digital Stamp
Foam Tape
Glue
Scissors
Blade
Ruler
Score Board
Cutting Machine
Optional: Stitched Border Trio Dies or Pierced Border Trio Dies

From the light blue cardstock cut out 21 x 15.50 cm and fold it in half. Cut a red-brown mountain 4.5 x 13 cm. From the green cardstock cut a 5 x 15.5 cm piece and cut the grass edge at the top. 1.5 cm from the bottom you make the opening for the slide with the basic die set. Add the yellow ochre 5 x 15.5 cm which you’ve cut out a wave on top. You could use the Stitched Border Trio Dies for this, or the Pierced Border Trio Dies.

Glue the mountain to the grass. Cut everything out of the basic die set. Put the foam tape on the back. If you put it together you can see if you need more tape. Attention: you should not stick tape on the side where you slide. Now colour your kangaroo digital stamp.

Stick the mountain with the grass on the card. Pay attention when you put it together. Watch out that you don’t stick to the slider. Before you proceed, see if the card slides properly. I put a bigger square on it to have a smoother slide.

You now need to cut the slider element with one hole in it. There are some folding marks on it. Fold it two times and stick the reverse side on your slider. Now stick the yellow ochre panel on top allowing the folded tap to sit over it. Glue your coloured kangaroo onto the folded tab.

Now your card is ready and your layers should look like this when you look from the side. Enjoy creating your own version of this fun slider card using the fabulous Whimsy Stamps Kinetic Die Elements

The final card again

You can check out another beautiful card of Hesters using this stunning stamp set, along with the rest of the Diva's beautiful creations in a recent post showcasing this wonderful set of stamps created to support Australia and their beautiful wildlife affected by the horrific recent fires. Click through on Hester's beautiful card below to head to that post.

We really hope you love our second Digital Team Tutorial. We will be bringing you a new tutorial every month, so be sure to come back and visit often!
