Butterflies

Hi :)  It's Kathy here with a card that combines a couple of my favourite things : Butterflies and Brayering.

I used the wonderful SC Design set Fluttering By  for the sentiment.  I have used it a lot already, I love it! And I've also used  the beautiful  Butterfly Border Die also from SC Design.

The butterflies are joined in a row but I just used black card with the die and then cut these 2 butterflies off.
I then glued these on to vellum and fussy cut around them.  I tried not to cut the black butterflies but just the vellum.  Then I coloured the vellum from the back with pink and blue copics, you can use any kind of marker to do this though.  I attached them with a rolled up glue dot behind their bodies so that it couldn't be seen.  So they are very dimensional and the wings can be bent up too.  They reminded me of stained glass windows and I really liked how they turned out :)

For the brayered panel I used a circle punched from a post it note to mask a moon and brayered on various blue and pink inks.

Thanks for dropping by for a look and hopefully I have inspired you to use your butterfly border die in a different way :)
