I am mostly a Copic marker girl but I find it really refreshing to try my hand with different mediums. I also find that skills I learn with pencils and watercolours can help my colouring with Copics too!
I had been meaning to try and colour with pencils on black cardstock before and finally got around to it! The result is ... interesting. The jury is still out if I like it or not.
I stamped Whimsy Star by Kenny K in white ink on black cardstock and coloured her is mixture of different pencils, basically just testing various brands: Faber-castell Polychromos, Derwent Inktense and Prismacolor. If I were to do it again, I'd use Prismacolour only, mainly because they gave the most opaque result.
The Film marker sentiment is from a Whimsy sentiment set and I cut it out with a matching die.
I also wanted to try out colouring without black lines - but I used watercolour markers instead of Copics.
I chose to colour Teen Idol image stamp and sentiment from Fun Life Ticket set.
The image was coloured with Whispers water-soluble markers. It was kind of a challenge to myself because Kenny K images have such strong striking lines and not depending on those while colouring is a wee bit tricky to put it mildly.
I used Whimsy Music Note background to stamp on white twill ribbon.
Please promise me you will ignore couple of bad smudges where I went in shading and discovered that image wasn't completely dry yet!!!
That's it for today - hope I managed to nudge you to try something new yourself!
Hugs
Annika
