Milly- Spring Helper

Hi everyone! Linda here again. I hope you've had a great week, mine has been super busy which is why I'm posting today instead of Tuesday.

Today I made a super cute vintage style card using the sweetest little girl from 

Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties Collection. 

This is 

Milly - Little Spring Helper,

 and she was one of our new releases for January, I can't believe that we are already in February can you? Next week we will have more new release cuties for you, so stay tuned for those!

I coloured her with my distress ink markers, and you can find the colours used on my blog.

Using gesso and cheesecloth are great when you want to make your projects look vintage as well as choosing quite muted colours. Of course the right image really helps your projects look vintage and Elisabeth's Little Cottage Cuties are just perfect for that!

Birthday Wishes using Painted Sayings

Hi Whimsy friends. I'm happy to be posting on the Whimsy blog today. I have a card to share that I made with the fabulous Painted Sayings stamp set from Whimsy's clear stamp line.  

I started by taking a piece of smooth white card stock and then blended several colors of Distress Inks on it for a rainbow effect. I then spritzed my panel quite liberally with water to let the colors really flow into one another.  I then stamped the gorgeous sentiments.  I then decided to add some stitching detail to both the top and bottom of the rainbow panel. I did this using the Stitched Border Die Trio set from Whimsy Stamps.  Some sparkling clear sequins finish off the card along with rounded corners on the bottom.
