Wee Stamps 'Mariposa'

Hello Whimsy fans, Cindy here today to share a tag I made. I used the new image from Wee Stamps by Sylvia Zet 'Mariposa'

I stamped the image on some watercolor paper with VersaFine ink in black. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color this cutie.  This was the first time using these markers and I really enjoyed them. I love the vibrant colors!  

I used the 'Stitched Tag Dies' to cut out the tag. The sentiment is from 'Everyday Mini Sentiments'.  I did add some Stickles to the flower centers but it doesnt' show up in the picture.

This cutie has already gone out with a bag of cookies to some friends.

Good morning Whimsy fans!  I hope your week has gone well and you have some fun plans for the holiday weekend. 

 

I just adore this new stamp from Krista Heij-Barber called Lemon-Aid.  How stinkin' cute is this one? It's also easy peasy to color up no matter the medium you choose.  I went with Copics this time around, but next time I think I'll pull out my zig markers.

Saturday Spotlight: Kimberly Rendino

Hello everyone! Welcome to May Saturday Spotlight guest artist feature, where each month our guest will bring you inspiration using our newest Clearly Whimsy Stamps!

For this month's Saturday Spotlight, the talented Kimberly Rendino has created a gorgeous card using the Playful Pups and Playful Pups Add Ons stamp sets! You can find these in the Whimsy Stamps shop!

I love how Kimberly used both sets together to create a super adorable scene! She also created some amazing dimension with the dog house; coupled with her beautiful coloring skills, this little scene just pops off the card!

Let's hear a bit about this card from Kimberly herself:

Adding dimension to elements on a card can really take it to the next level! The old saying “You’re in the doghouse” was the inspiration for my card, so I really wanted to make the cute pup appear to be inside the doghouse in a way that stamping and masking directly on my cardbase could not. 

I made sure to edge each individual piece with a black Copic marker before gluing them all together - once stacked, that black really added to the dimensional feel! The doghouse was a very simple shape to cut out, so cutting eight of them out really didn’t take much time at all. Another quick tip is to highlight an area with a bit of Distress Ink. 

 Once I had everything together, I felt like something was missing - I was able to buff on some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink behind where I intended to place the doghouse element for a hint of a soft sky.

Wedding Bells!

Hi Everyone!

It's Shannah here today to share some Whimsy Inspiration with you!

My card today features the the sweetest image ever called 'Wedding Bells' from the Crissy Armstrong Collection. The cute couple come with the bell and linked hearts (shown on my card) and several sentiments. 'Wedding Bells' is available right now at Whimsy Stamps.

The image is stamped in Momento Tuxedo ink and coloured with Copic markers, and he papers are from the Bo Bunny 'Secret Garden' collection.

I finished with some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some pearls.

Hi everyone!  

Kristie here today, my turn to share a Whimsy creation with you.

For today's card I used Punny Message stamp set & Hand stitched borders.

I created some waves in the water by using the Hand Stitched Borders die, I then colored loosely with two Zig markers then went over with some water and a paintbrush to blend the colors.  The whales were stamped and then fussy cut so they could be "in" the water.  I colored those with Zig Markers as well.  The sentiment is embossed in white on black card stock.  The hearts were also stamped and colored with Zig Markers.  The big heart is attached to the whale stamp but the two smaller open hearts are from Baby Animals stamp set.

A TON of Fun with Punny Messages!

Hello friends!  DT Vicki popping in here today to share a card I made with one of the latest release clear sets called "Punny Messages":

Have you checked out all of the darling images with the matching "punny" sentiments from this set?!  I think there are several different occasions to use these for and I plan on getting it out again to make more!  I've actually made this card for a friend of mine to thank them for a fun time that I had at her house, so I think she would enjoy the humor in this one! :)

So I took the elephant from this stamp set and paired him with the matching sentiment and stamped it onto a circle that was die cut out with the Stitched Circles die set and attached this onto a punched out black scalloped circle.  The elephant was colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and popped up with some foam tape right above the sentiment.  I have also used the small flower from the "Playful Pups Add On" stamp set and colored that and glued him behind the elephant's trunk.

For the bottom portion of my card, I have used an embossing folder for just a section of the gray colored card front and then cut a strip of black with the Basic Border Trio dies to get the scallop design.  I've attached it alongside the embossed area and then added some white grosgrain ribbon.

This gray card front was then attached to an A2 sized black card base.

Here's a closer look at the elephant:

Here you can better see the elephant popped up over the sentiment.

I have used my Copic markers to do some dot detail around the shadow parts of his body and I've also used a black gel pen for his eye along with a white gel pen to make a tiny dot for his eye.

Wedding the Odd Couple

Howdy - MichelleO here and today I am here to show off one of the new May Release! And this one really gave me a chuckle. "Wedding the Odd Couple" by Crissy Armstrong

 

Is this a fun image or what? Perfect for that funny wedding or anniversary card. I colored with my Copics (colors below) and added stickles to her veil. My papers are from Kaisercraft. I sewed down the layers using a dark grey card stock for mats and the base. The sentiment comes with the image. Is perfect for the image. I added three dots for faux pearls with my Viva Decor pearl pen. Now honestly here they were little round pearls... but and dropped the card and one went flat.. so I dropped it again and made the others go flat and match. Have to make flops work for us right? Lol I then added some Martha Stewart Frond punch leaves and then three mulberry roses.
