Hello Whimsy-Fans, Iris here. Hope you are all doing well! Today is tutorial time here on the Whimsy Inspirational Blog and I like to show you how to make a little corner-bookmark.
Gather your supplies.
You'll need:
card stock, any color you like

scoring board
pencil
ruler
cutter or scissors
glue
colored image of your choice
designer paper and embellishments

Start by cutting a piece of cardstock 5 x 5 inches.
Your finished bookmark will measure 3.5 x 3.5 inches
Your finished bookmark will measure 3.5 x 3.5 inches
Mark on each side at 2.5 inches
Score at two adjacent sides (see photo)
Now fold the two corners inward
Cut off the other two corners (see photo)
This is how your piece of cardstock will look like after folding and cutting off the corners
Now it's time to decorate your bookmark. I'll cut a piece of cardstock 3.5 x 3.5 inches., cut it in half and use it to close the flaps. Now you can add your image and embellies as you like! Remember when adding your image only glue it to the top part of the bookmark!
This is how my finished bookmark looks like. I used that super adorable little Whimsy Frog for my bookmark. I really like these kind of bookmarks because you just slide them over the corner of a book page and nothing is sticking out. This makes it easy to carry your book in a bag or purse without ruining your bookmark ;-)
I hope that you liked my little tutorial and got inspired to try one yourself soon!
Have a fabulous rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteThis Bookmark brought back memories for me. Many years ago, my Mom went to a fair in the next county from where we reside, and purchased a leather bookmark that fix on the corner of the page, just like yours! The comment on the front of the leather bookmark mom purchased in 1965 said " This Was Where I Fell Asleep !
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing, I am going to make some of these bookmarks for stocking stuffers for Christmas !
