31 Nights of Halloween - Night 25 - Special Guest Lisa Mensing

Welcome, crafty friends! Lisa here, spooky special guest, bringing you night 25 of the 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration! I hope you've been joining in the nightly fun!

I have two Halloween cards to share featuring the Kinetic Dies and Boo to You Stamps along with a video tutorial. Step-by-step instructions are below, and you can view the video tutorial here or over on my YouTube channel.

HOW TO
  • Stamp and color images; I used COPIC makers.
  • You can fussy cut the images or use a ScanNCut; it just makes things easier.

BACKGROUNDS
  • Die-cut two pieces of masking paper using a round die and position on the watercolor paper
WITCH CARD
  • Add Distress Ink in the color Black Soot to the edges of the paper, follow with Picked Raspberry ink, and blend the colors together, remove the masking paper.
  • Using a blender detail tool, add Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber ink to the moon.
  • Add splatters to the card panel.

FRANKENSTEIN CARD
  • Add Distress Ink in the color Black Soot to the edges of the paper, follow with Shabby Shutters ink and blend the colors together.
  • Using Distress Oxide inks in the colors Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed watercolor the moon.

ASSEMBLING CARDS
(see video)

  • Die-cut the hidden slider track

Die-cut pieces from the No See Kinetic Dies using black cardstock.

Don't forget the foam dots; one goes between these circles allowing everything to move along the hidden slider track.

  • Assemble the pieces using liquid adhesive
  • Add 3D mounting foam to the back of the panel, make sure the mounting foam does not interfere with the movement of the parts, then attach to a 4.25" x 5.5" card base, make sure everything is moving freely.
  • Die-cut the fence from the Kinetic Curved Hills Die Set
  • Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment onto the fence before adding it to the card base.
  • Add 3D mounting foam to the back of the die-cut fence; adhere to the card base to cover the slider track.
  • Glue witch to the slider; I used a mini action wobble
  • Die-cut headstones and bat from the Dracula's Coffin Die Set
  • Add headstones behind the fence right about the hidden slider track; make sure the headstones don't interfere with the movement of the slider.
  • Add foam strips to the back of a bat and add to the card.
  • Add sequins to the moon and finish off with details using a white gel pen.

Special Whimsy Weekend Release

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 24

Have you been enjoying our 31 Nights of Halloween event as much as I have?  There are still a few days left, more prizes to win, and, of course, the grand prize.  Read more about it here.

My post today is one where you can win the Goth prize pack comprised of the Goth Girl and Goth Star sets along with the Goth Dies.  To enter, let me know in the comments the Halloween costume you would love to wear/design but never have. Let your imagination go wild!

Now on to my card!

I stamped the Goth Skulls Background onto the red cardstock using Versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The shine really makes it pop. The base cardstock peeking out around the Wavy Pierced Rectangle also has a bit of shine.

I cut out a piece of wood-grain cardstock and sponged it with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo for Morticia's stake. I used a length of hand-dyed baby yarn for the rope that binds Morticia.

For the flames I used the wings from the Gothic Dies, sponging them with Distress Oxide Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed.  The Morticia is stamped in Versamark on one of the Gothic Dies hearts and embossed with Ranger White Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

If you'd like to check out my other creations, you can visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft, my Instagram, or my Pinterest Board.

Have a spooktacular rest of your week!  And don't forget to let me know in the comments the Halloween costume you would love to wear/design but never have for your chance to win the Goth Prize Pack!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 23 - Special Guest Kimberly Wiener

Hello Whimsy fans - Kimberly Wiener here!
Once again, I am so excited to be sharing in the 31 Nights of Halloween Celebration with Whimsy Stamps!

The Candle Creeps stamp set is so unique that I had to create a card right away and feature it
set against a spooky, starry, night sky.
The Slimline Postage Die was amazing as a window panel, adding so much interest.

To make this "Spooky Candelabra" card:
Prepare white card base of 4" x 5.75",  an inner panel of yellow card stock measuring 3.6" x 5.25", and a black card stock layer of 3.75" x 5.35".
Cut a 2.5" x 3.75" piece of white card stock and blend with blue distress ink or glitter ink for the sky layer.
Color onto a small slip of white card stock blended colors of coral, and cut out with a circle punch or die.  Stamp, color and fussy-cut the image from Candle Creeps.
Die-cut the Slimline Postage Die from black cardstock.  Die-cut the cardstock a second so that there are only two openings in the panel.
Adhere black die-cut over sky panel.  Layer yellow and black cardstock and adhere to the card base. Adhere image and stamp sentiment in black.  Add stars using a white gel pen and the Star Galaxy Stencil.

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 22

Hi Whimsy friends. Alanna here and I've got another card to share with you for the 31 Nights of Halloween Celebration here at the Whimsy blog.  Haven't there been some amazing projects? And all the prizes? Denise and Whimsy Stamps are always so generous.

It's my turn to share with you today and I am using the super cute Candy Corn Dress Up stamp set. These little candy characters are just too cute.

{Confession time - I absolutely love candy corn. I wish I could get it year round}

Okay, back to my card. I started by stamping, coloring with Copic markers and then fussy cutting a few of the little cuties.

I then die cut the Peekaboo Window 2 die several times. Once with some fun purple patterned paper from my stash and a few more just out of white card stock.  I adhered them all together to create a more substantial frame.

I added my stamped images into 3 of the openings and then stamped the sentiments, both of which are from the same Candy Corn Dress Up set.

Now, for your chance to win the super fun prize package that consists of the Candy Corn Dress Up set along with the Dragon Costume set, answer this question in the comment section below. Are you TEAM YES or TEAM NO on candy corn? You already know where I stand. :)

Make sure to check back on the Whimsy blog on October 31st at  4 pm MST for all the winners throughout the month.
