Special Guest - Jenny Colacicco

Hi, everyone! It's Jenny back today with my second guest post. In case you missed it, you can find my first post here. Today I'm featuring the gorgeous Flower Puffs Background stamp, and I will show you how to use it two different ways.

For my first card, I decided to go monochromatic. This is such a gorgeously detailed background stamp, with shading clearly marked, I decided to stamp it in black and then add shading with Tombow Dual Brush markers. I used Versafine Onyx Black Ink to stamp the image onto Solar White cardstock. The ink is great for detailed stamps like this. When dry, I came in with the darkest grey Tombow marker and added some depth in the areas with the shading already marked.

I then came in with a lighter gray and added some scribbled grey over the rest of each petal, leaving some white towards the edge. I wanted this to be slightly whimsical and roughly colored.

To create my sentiment, I used the Whimsy Thanks Word and Shadow die set. I used the larger shadow to die cut a window out of my colored panel, before adhering it to a white notecard. I then die cut the Thanks word itself four times from black cardstock, adhering them together, and aligning into the window on the notecard.

You can see in this side-by-side comparison that I tried a similar design with my second card. This time though, I heat embossed the background stamp by stamping in embossing ink onto watercolor cardstock, then heat embossing with WOW! White Pearl embossing powder. This powder has a beautiful pearly sheen to it in real life.

I spritzed my heat embossed panel with clear water, then proceeded to drop different paint colors into the panel - mostly blues and aquas, with a touch of pink. When they blended together, they created a gorgeous purple shade. When dry, I did this one more time (without the initial water spritz) then dried again. As a final touch, I used a pearly white translucent metallic watercolor paint and went over some of the flowers before drying one more time. The heat embossing resists the paint and you are left with these gorgeous flower outlines against the paint.

To finish the card, I once again die cut the Thanks shadow, and this time I popped the panel up using foam tape onto a white note card. The Thanks word was die cut four times from purple textured shimmer cardstock and adhered to the centre as before. A very different look using the same stamp and die!

I want to thank Whimsy Stamps for having me guest this month! I've had a fab time playing with the goodies they sent me, and I hope I've managed to inspire you.

Jenny

Beaucoup Bouquet card By Céline

HI,
Céline's here to share a new card with you.
I decided to go out my comfort zone and create a special thanks card using Beaucoup Bouquet and Beaucoup Bouquet die set

For this card I first start to color all the piece of Beaucoup Bouquet set
Copics used :
R56, 46, 29, 27, 24, 89, 85, 83, 81
YR18, 16, 14, Y17, 18, 15, 13
YG 17, 25, 13, 97, 95, 93
G94, YG63, G21

Then I cut all the piece with Beaucoup Bouquet die set

I cut a piece of white cardstock with  Card Builder Windows
And I glue flowers and leaves on the top left corner to create a bouquet

I used the Word and Shadow die to cut in a piece of black cardstock the shadow and in a piece of orange papers the word.
Then I glue them together and glue the word on the bottom right corner of the white cardstock.

I cut a black cardstok at 13,3 x 10,2 cm
and a orange paper at 14,7 x 11,6 cm
and another piece of black cardstock at 14 x 11,9 cm
and my card base in a white paper at 15,3 x 23,8 cm fold in half
I glue all the parts together
and I added some enamel dots to finish

Whale of a Time With Sparkle!

Hi friends!
Michele here with a fun card sharing my card using Whimsy Stamp's Whale of a Time stamp set!
It is such a fun set to color and play with!

I colored the images with Copic markers and fussy cut each of the images.  I used Whimsy's new Wonky Window Die to create the background.   I paired it with glittery silver and blue paper.
I always seem to need thank you cards, so I incorporated the new Thanks Word and Shadow die.

I colored the top layer of the word with Copics to give it a gradient effect. I popped up the top two pieces on the back piece with Crafty Foam Tape.
I added a few touches of hot pink for contrast and used a few clear droplets from the Coral Coast Sparkletz collection.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Thanks in Plaid

Hello, everyone. Iris here today with a card showcasing the Buffalo Plaid background stamp,
Thanks Word and Shadow die set and You're too kind clear stamps.

I stamped the Buffalo Plaid Background stamp onto medium blue cardstock using Versafine Clair Paradise ink to create the background panel. I then die cut the word thanks using the Thanks Word and Shadow die from the background panel as well as 3 times from black heavyweight cardstock. I layered (and glued) all the thanks die cuts on top of each other ending with the blue one and set it aside. Now I stamped the word thanks from the You're too kind clear stamps set above and below the cut out on the plaid background panel. I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp.

My card base is a top fold card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). To make the blue panel pop I layered it onto a black cardstock panel slightly smaller than the card base.
After adhering all layers I inserted the word thanks back into the negative space on the blue panel and glued it down. A few tiny gemstones finish off my card.
