31 Nights of Halloween - Night 19

Hello friends! It's Michele here with another fun Halloween card to share! I absolutely love, love, love this Slimline Hourglass Die! It is the perfect backdrop for all of your spooky Halloween goodness! The "Glass" was cut out with vellum.  I cut the "sand" using orange card stock and used the Halloween Expressions Stencil to fill it in.  I added spiders and webs from Whimsy's new die set.  I applied crackle paste over my spider and let it do its magic.  Once dry, I rubbed black ink over it.  

I added the EEK! Word and Shadow Die and a few spider sequins, from the Sparkletz-Creepy collection,  to finish off the card.

Watercolors and Layers Tutorial

Hello friends! Michele here today! I have a photo tutorial to share today.  I am not really sure what my style is exactly, but I have been told that I have a tendency to layer.  So I thought I would share my layering process with you.  :) No mind you, I kind of wing it and it is definitely a work in progress as I go. 

I knew I wanted to use February's Layered Dahlia set because I am drawn to flowers. 

I wanted to create a graphic background that wasn't too busy but would compliment my flowers.  I used the Metallic Karin Brushmarkers, Washi tape and Post It tape.  After my 3 colors were dry, I splattered additional flecks of color using a paintbrush and watered down water colors in black and white. 

I removed the Washi tape and Post It tape and had these 3 graphic, metallic stripes. I stamped my flowers with a watercolor friendly ink,  Black Versafine. They were water colored with the Karin Brushmarkers.  I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. I added a few white highlights with a white gel pen.

I decided I needed a bit of white space so the flowers would pop a bit against the graphic background.  I used the new Hexagon dies. 

I stamped the sentiment in black. 

I layered the flowers over the hexagon dies. 

I used the 3D Foam Squares to pop up the flowers. 

I love using string on my cards.  Especially with flowers.  It just give it a little extra somethin' somethin.' 

I seem to use some type of gem, pearl, or rhinestone on most of my cards too.  I used Sparkletz and Glossy Accents to adhere them. 

I used the new Criss Cross Gingham Background stamp to add as the bottom layer of the card.

Hello friends!

Hope you had a great week! It's Michele here with a card using my favorite new set from Whimsy Stamps, Artist Toolkit! I stamped the images in a light grey ink and water colored them.  I fussy cut them out and added glossy accents to the paint portion. 

I used the new Array of Rainbows die set.  I cut the rainbow and stars out of water colored paper and water colored it.  I wanted to add a bit of interest to the background so I stamped the new Marble Background stamp in light grey. I stamped the sentiment in black Memento ink and adhered the rainbow, paint, and stars.  I added a few star Sparkletz too. :)

Michele here with a brand new card to share!

It is finally spring!  I am so ready for all of the flowers to bloom and to get outside!

I absolutely adore the Beaucoup Bouquet set!  It is so pretty and has such a great variety of flowers! 

I stamped the images in Black Versafine ink and colored them using watercolors.  Once they were dry, I splattered them with white acrylic paint.  I used the Beaucoup Bouquet die set to cut them out. I wanted a couple of larger leaves, so I used the leaves from the Peony die set.  I gave them a bit of shimmer using glossy accents and Glamour Dust.  

I used the Kinetic Straight Waves Die set to create an interesting backdrop to the flowers.  I gave the panel a bit of color with Distress Oxide ink.  I layered the flowers and leaves using Crafty Foam tape.  I slipped a doily underneath and added a sentiment using the Smile Large Word die. As a final touch I added a few gems from the Coral Coast Sparkletz set.
