Hello, Crafty Friends!  Sharna here! So happy to be guesting for Whimsy Stamps today. 

I just love all the little gnome sets at Whimsy, so I was very excited to get my hands on the Gnome Matter What set. 

For the background here I started with a sheet of white Neenah cardstock. I blended on distress oxide in Speckled Egg for the half of the panel, darker on top and lightest near the bottom. I then added Chipped Sapphire to the middle third of the panel in the same way, dark to light and blending into the Speckled Egg. Lastly, I added Ground Espresso to the bottom third, blending it into the Chipped Sapphire. I love this combo for a night-time, deep-dark feel. I then used some Bleed Proof White from Dr PH Martins as splatter. I white heat-embossed the sentiment, "Thanks so Much", because who doesn't need a thank you card! The images were then colored with Copics.

into Christmas Gnomes!

SUCH FUN!

(...and it just goes to show how versatile wonderful Whimsy Stamps are and how you can easily stretch your stash)!

I stamped this gorgeous gnomie in black ink onto white card.

 Gnome Matter What Clear Stamps (Dustin Pike)

I used Copic Markers to colour the background first.  I always do it that way round just in case I fluff it up!  Freehand-drawing backgrounds is still new to me, and I don't always get them how I like them first time round!

I started by colouring outward from the lantern.  I used circular strokes to give the impression of the light from the lamp - although I think to be honest it looks more like the moon!  I decided not to get uptight as either option is fine!  It can be what you want it to be - there are no mistakes in art - right!!

I coloured outward from the lantern with Copics in the following order - Y00, Y02, Y11, B00, B07, B09, B99, and then went back over it a few times to improve the depth and the blend, don't worry too much about it being a totally smooth blend, it really does nt need to be for this background to work!

Once I was happy with the glow/moon (: I coloured the rest of the background with B99 and then added the trees with C08.  They are so straightforward to do, they are basically tall triangles with squiggles coming out of them!

Once I had finished the background I coloured the rest of the image.

Smile Gnome Matter What

Hello, Whimsy Friends!  Toni here sharing another card featuring the Gnome Matter What set. I love this set--so cute!

I stamped the Gnome Matter What image using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him up with Copics.

I created the hillside by sponging Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron onto the lower portion of the mushroom diecut. I added some water spatters and grass, as well as detail on the flower (using a white pigment pen)

I assembled the scene and then realized I had forgotten to cut the Whimsy Smile from the card front beforehand. I had envisioned a bit of colored peeping out.  Instead I glued the diecut down and left it white on white.  Turned out even better than what was in my head!
