31 Nights of Halloween - Night 20 and don't forget it's release day!

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

Have you been enjoying all the spooky creations so far this month? They've been absolutely gorgeous haven't they? Before I start telling you about my card, I just wanted to remind you we've had another fab release today, if you haven't seen it yet, be sure to pop over to the store. It's cute, you won't want to miss it!

Alrighty then! Let's talk pumpkins. This row of cuties are from the FaDoodle Fall Set. I coloured them up with copics and then stamped the faces on top. Sorted.

Using the largest die from the Frame Doodles Scallop Rectangle Die Set and another die from the Wonky Stitched Rectangles, I've created a frame for the pumpkins. I used tape to hold the two dies in position so I could cut three, identical frames. I've stacked and stuck them together, to add some depth to the card.

All I needed then, was a sweet little spider, a sentiment and this pumpkin paper from the Vintage Halloween Paper Pack and the job was done. I love it when a plan comes together.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day...

Technique Tuesday - Cute Cacti Colour Along

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

Did you see the Cute Cactus Stamp Set, matching dies and papers released last week? Like you, I get excited about new stuff, so I thought I would share my colouring process as I play with one of the images from this set today.

Ready? Let's go then!

My light source is coming from the top left, and, because I know I am going to die cut the image when I have finished with it, I have stamped it in black ink on a scrap of paper. I love using something from my bag of scrap card, but it has made a naughty little line at the top of all my scans, sorry about that. Most of the time when I colour, I lay down my medium tone first, to plan where my shading will be. But sometimes, I pull up my pants and just go for it...

Snow Road

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

I am prepared to admit Christmas is coming. I am also prepared to admit I made a Christmas card. Yes, I know, I should have warned you to sit down first, sorry. The newly released Snow Road is the kind of image that begs to be coloured immediately. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've coloured this gorgeous stamp with copics and added a few extra scrumptious supplies from Whimsy too. I started by die cutting the image with Rounded Rectangle Dies. Can you spot the other items?

There, that should have helped. The sentiment is from the Christmas Ellie-Ments Stamp Set and I die cut that with Quick Strips

I stamped the Snow Flurry Background Stamp onto Vellum with white ink and embossed it, I love this effect. And finally, a few star gems from the Starry Sky Sparkletz Pack. Careful, these little packets of lovely are addictive!

And that's it... time for a mince pie ;)

Fishing Dragon and Whimsy Workshop Weekends

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

With Autumn well and truly upon us and because I am completely ignoring Christmas for the time being, I thought I would share one of the projects we completed at the recent Whimsy Workshop Weekend.

(Have you seen the dates for the Workshop Weekends next year, by the way? Keep 05 - 08 June and 16 - 19 October free Peeps. Bookings open on 01 December #enabler)

Anyway, back to the Fishing Dragon...

Cute no? I thought we could do so much more with him, so I created a little scene for him on his walk back from the lake...

We coloured the whole lot in Copics, with a few pencil lines in to map out trees and hills and such. I was really pleased with how the trees came out.

When I've coloured a scene like this, I don't like to do too much more to it, so out came my trusty and very favourite Everyday Scripted Sentiment Set. Job done!
