Special Guest - Karen Roberts

 

Hi, Whimsy fans!  Karen Roberts is back with us sharing another delightful, Halloween card.

Well, our favorite dragon is back, and this time he's going trick-or-treating!  How fun is that?!  Karen did a little creative stamping to one of the Fishing Dragons to create this cute trick-or-treater.  She used distress inks for that awesome sky, which she sprinkled with water and Perfect Pearls.  She colored her images with Copics and popped up that fun dragon with foam squares.

Special Guest - Megan Quinn

Hello! My name is Megan Quinn, and I am so excited to be guest designing for Whimsy Stamps this month! The card that I have created to share with you today features adorable stamps illustrated by Dustin Pike.

I started this card by stamping the background using the Path In the Woods Cling Stamp and colored it using Copic Markers. This image is a perfect backdrop for the scene I wanted to create. 

I also stamped images from the Fishing Dragons Clear Stamp Set, which I with Copic Markers. I then layered a piece of vellum behind the dragon and fishing bucket images to help them stand out from the background. 

To finish the card off, I combined two sentiments from the Fishing Dragons Clear Stamp Set. I stamped and white heat embossed them onto a piece of black cardstock to help it stand out.

Fishing Dragon and Whimsy Workshop Weekends

Hi Everyone, it's Faye here today :)

With Autumn well and truly upon us and because I am completely ignoring Christmas for the time being, I thought I would share one of the projects we completed at the recent Whimsy Workshop Weekend.

Anyway, back to the Fishing Dragon...

Cute no? I thought we could do so much more with him, so I created a little scene for him on his walk back from the lake...

We coloured the whole lot in Copics, with a few pencil lines in to map out trees and hills and such. I was really pleased with how the trees came out. 

When I've coloured a scene like this, I don't like to do too much more to it, so out came my trusty and very favourite Everyday Scripted Sentiment Set. Job done!
