Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web Collaboration Day 5 - Andrea

Welcome to the last day of the Whimsy Stamps-Therm O Web Collaboration!  There has been some amazing inspiration from both teams all week, and we hope you've enjoyed every bit of it!  Be sure to leave comments on all of the collaboration posts for both teams as each company is giving away a $25 gift certificate on both blogs - for a combined $100 in prizes!

The colors of the Rina K. Designs Electro-Pop Neon Enamel remind me of the colors in a coral reef, so I decided to use them with the Baby Sea Creatures set to make some underwater scenes.  I just love how these turned out!  For both cards I colored the sea critters with Zig Real Brush Markers.

My first card also features the Slimline Film Strip Die, which I die-cut from black cardstock.  For the background I recycled a distress-ink piece rejected for another project.  I adhered the black frame to my background with thin strips of foam tape and attached it to a white card with ScorTape.

The way I used the Enamel Transfer Sheets is probably the easiest method for applying them.  I removed the backing from one side of a Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheet and covered it with a piece of enamel trimmed to size.  I then die-cut the foam-backed enamel with the Build-an-Ocean Dies.  For my first card, I used the following colors of enamel: Hello Yellow, Orange Glow, and Screamin' Green.  Not only are the colors perfect for an underwater scene, they're also shiny, thereby emphasizing the watery feel.

I filled in my background with the die-cut shapes and adhered my colored images with foam tape.  I stamped a sentiment from Baby Sea Creatures onto a banner die-cut with the Quick Strips Dies and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.  I finished the card with a scattering of Boo Sparkletz.

I had some leftover die-cuts, so I decided to make a second card (In addition to the enamels mentioned above, I also used Poppin' Pink for this card.).  Besides, I couldn't leave out that adorable sea turtle!  To frame that cutie patootie, I stamped the Seashells Background onto white cardstock and then die-cut the panel with the Pierced and Stitched Circles Dies.  I taped two of the circle dies together and die-cut another piece of cardstock to create the frame.

For my background I first blended with the following colors of distress inks: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire.  I sprayed the back of the Making Waves Stencil with Pixie Spray (I love using the spray to hold stencils in place, especially intricate ones), placed the stencil over my background and blended with the same colors again.  I then placed the Ocean Stencil (again, sprayed with Pixie Spray) and used a palette knife to spread Transfer Gel Blanco.  Once the gel was fully dry, I placed a piece of Hello Yellow Enamel Transfer Sheet over it and ran the panel through my laminator.

After adhering my background to a square card with ScorTape, I affixed the stamped frame with foam tape.  I layered some enamel-coated die-cuts onto my card.  Because the Foam Adhesive Sheets are sticky on both sides, I dusted the backs of portions of the die-cuts with corn starch (embossing powder or baby powder also works) so that I could add bits of foam adhesive behind them.  I heat-embossed a sentiment from Baby Sea Creatures onto a banner die-cut with the Quick Strips Dies and finished with a few Boo Sparkletz.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Kimberly here with you, and I have two very sugary sweet confections for you today.
The first is a stacked cupcake card!

To make the "Stacked Cupcake" card:
Prepare white card base of 4.25 x 5.5. Cut two panels of white card stock 3.75 x 5.5. Die cut the zig zag edger down both sides of the card base. On one panel, apply the Poppin Pink over the Sending Sunshine Stencil. Once dry, sponge distress orange ink over entire panel. On the second panel, line up letters from the
Bold ABC Die Set spelling upcake,
running through the die cutting machine, once again adding the c.
Mask and offset stamp the Calories Schmalories cupcakes in alcohol compatible black ink.
Color cupcakes with alcohol markers and add
a dusting of fine clear glitter.
Adhere die cut layer over stencil layer,
and affix to the base card.

The second is another yummy cupcake card with an explosion of sweetness!

To make the "Yum! Cupcake" card:
Prepare white card base of 4.25 x 5.5. Cut a panel of white card stock 4.5 x 3.5. Apply Orange Glow over
the Whimsy Stamps Honeycomb Drips Stencil.
Mask and ink a cupcake from the Calories Schmalories set to add the candle. Color and cut images.
Add sentiment onto a .5 x 3.5 in white card stock strip.
Adhere stencil panel to card base, add sentiment strip with 3 iCraft Dots 1 1/2 glue dots adding cupcake with one glue dot onto the upper portion of the cupcake image to the stencil area. A small liquid glue will affix the bottom portion of the cupcake to the sentiment strip.

Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web Collaboration Day 3 - Kerys

Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web are teaming up once again for a fabulous week of inspiration and prizes! Be sure to visit both blogs all week long for some amazing ideas and to enter to win!

Here are the cards I created.

I began by using Rina K Design Glitz Glitter Gels from Thermoweb onto some matching colored cardstock from my stash. I used the Hello Yellow and the Screamin Green Glitz Glitter Gels on yellow and green cardstock - I then set them aside to dry.

I used Whimsy Stamps Shaker Maker Rectangles die set to create the white frame and inside piece, cutting it from a piece of white cardstock measuring 4" x 5.25".

I used Rina K Designs Electro Pop Ink in Blaring Blue, along with Whimsy Stamps Swish stencil, to create a wave effect on some blue cardstock from my stash. I also used the same Blaring Blue ink to create a cloud background, using the Whimsy Stamps Grass and Cloud Edger Dies to create a stencil.

I stamped the hippo and sentiment from the Hippo Beach Fun stamp set. I colored in the image with my Prismacolor pencils, added white gel pen detailing and fussy cut him out. I used Whimsy Stamps Quick Strips die to cut out the sentiment banner.

Once the glitter gel was dry, I used the Build-an-Island die set to cut out the palm tree and beach from the yellow and green glitter cardstocks and a piece of white cardstock. I colored in the tree trunk and pieced together the island. I added this behind the white frame. I popped up the hippo and frame on foam tape.

For my second card, I used Rina K Designs Neon Flock sheets in Hello Yellow. I started with stamping Whimsy Stamps Galaxy Galore background stamp in VersaMark Watermark ink onto some black cardstock. I then used Ranger's sticky embossing powder. Once heat set, this is a sticky print that allows you to adhere foil and flock to it - I ran it through my Gemini Jr to ensure it stuck properly. I love how it turned out!

I used Whimsy Stamps Film Strip die and cut it out of white cardstock. I adhered the galaxy background behind it.

I stamped out the images using Whimsy Stamps A Boy's Dream stamp set and colored them in with my Prismacolor pencils. I then fussy cut them out.

I stamped the sentiment from A Boy's Dream stamp set, using the Rina K Designs Electro Pop Ink in Blaring Blue, onto one of the windows that came out of the film strip die. I popped this panel up on foam tape and added some enamel dots from my stash.  I added the film strip panel onto a white slimline card base and added all the images to finish it off.

Two super fun cards using products from Therm-o-web and Whimsy Stamps - a great combination.

Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web Collaboration Day 2-Michele

Hello friends!
Michele here with some fun projects to share! I couldn't be more excited that Whimsy Stamps and Therm O Web have decided to team up! This is going to be a week filled with inspiration and fun prizes! Be sure to visit both blogs all week long for creative ideas and your chance to win some fun prizes!

My first card and second card uses Whimsy's Ahoy Matey clear stamp set.  I stamped it in a Copic friendly ink.  I fussy cut the images and set them aside. For the background I used Tim Holtz inks in shades of yellow, orange, and pink.  I then used Whimsy's Sun Ray's Stencil and Rina K's Neon Glitz Glitter Gel in neon pink.

I LOVE the sparkles the neon paste gives! I wanted clouds for the scene so I cut them using Whimsy's, Up in the Clouds Die set and Deco Foil White Flock Transfer Sheets.  I glued them to the front panel.  I used Crafty Foam Tape to pop up my little flamingo and sentiment.  I added a few stars from the Sparkletz Patriotic Stars collection.

My second card uses the same technique as the first card, but used Rink K's Neon Glitz Glitter gel in Neon Orange.

All that sparkle!!

My last card for today uses the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheet in White Latte and Green Envy.  I paired it with Whimsy Stamp's Peony Flower Die.  I wanted to add color to my flowers so it would match my background paper a bit.  I pulled out my Copic AirBrush and gave it a hint of pink.  I did the same with the leaves to give them a bit of depth and dimension.

For the back panel I used the flock transfer sheets directly on Crafty Foam Tape.  I adhered them to a square panel of card stock and created a striped background.  I glued the flower, leaves, and ribbon to the corner.  I stamped and adhered the sentiment.  I added a few rhinestones from the Mermaid Sparkletz collection and Crystal stars.

Each company is giving away two $25 gift certificates. One on the Whimsy Blog and one on the Therm O Web blog.  To increase your changes of winning, leave a comment on each of the collaboration posts on both blogs. Comments must be left by Monday, July 19th at midnight EST.  Winners will be randomly selected and announced on Wednesday, July 21st.
