We go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong

Hey there lovely Whimsy Stamps fans. I hope you've been having a good week. Today is my gorgeous boy Zac's 8th birthday. So I'm in a party mood!! I've actually already made his birthday card, but it didn't stop me colouring up this gorgeous Llama, full of party drama! Such a fun image don't ya think? I've coloured this awesome Krista Heij-Barber image called Llama Birthday with my Alcohol Markers as I wanted bright cheery colours for this creation and nothing quite 'pops' like alcohol ink. We have some awesome new digital papers this month, and I've used the red and yellow toned paper from the Stripe Papers set to mat this fun Llama image. You only see a hint of this lovely paper top and bottom, but I think it's the perfect finish to set up this festive image. I've added it to a zingy bright orange card base that has a lovely sheen to it. 

The only 'embellishment' I added to this festive card was some musical notes to hint that the Llama Llama Birthday sentiment is a fun party song. While I was colouring this in, I had that song from the film Grease 'We Go Together' running through my head, as it has all sorts of fun nonsense lyrics in it... "We go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong", talk about a blast from the past! But it so gave me a giggle while I was working on this card.

A warm welcome to the blog from Whimsy Stamps, Ute here. This time I made a funny birthday card, maybe for my Spanish speaking friends...

What is the idea behind the card?

I made this card, because I love the Lama stamp set... Looks amazing... Why not made a birthday card with a Spanish sentiment?

How I made this card?

First I stamped the image with a Copicfriendly ink. After than I color this cute critter with Alcoholmarker and Prismacolor Premium Pencils. I use a black card base A2 format and cut a smaller white cardstock, because I want to made a background, who will fit...The background was made with different stencils and dry embossing. I also use my pencils to bring a little accent into the picture. I cut out the Lama and glue it to the card. For my sentiment I use an Spanish stamp, mean the same like happy birthday...

Tipps and Tricks

You can use distress backgrounds to many occasions and it looks really great. If you haven't the right stencils? You can made DIY. I use a laminated foil to made my own pattern...

Rainbow Llama Birthday

Hello, Whimsy fans!  It's Andrea with you today sharing a fun rainbow card using some of the new products in the store.

Isn't that llama from Llama Birthday too fun?!  He definitely looks like he knows how to party!  After coloring him with Copics, I fussy-cut him.  To camouflage my less-than-perfect fussy-cutting, I went over the edges with a black marker.

That rainbow background is perfect for that fun-loving llama!  I created it by blending various colors of distress ink over the Beaded Curtain Stencil.  Those beautiful stitched edges are compliments of the Card Builder Windows Die Set, which I used to die-cut the panel.  I adhered my background to a black card and popped up the llama with foam tape, adding some shading under him with Copics.

The sentiment is from the retired Big Balloon Celebrations set.  I heat-embossed it onto a black flag that I had die-cut with the Card Builder Windows Die Set.  I adhered my flag with foam tape and added some bling to the card with a few clear sequins and Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Overlay.
