Whimsy Stamps Halloweeners Mid Month Showcase

Hello hello crafty friends, we are deep in the midst of prepping for the spooky season. We've had our first game for the season, which we hosted in our Facebook Group. If you've not found your way there yet, and you're a Halloween fan, I encourage to do so, as a lot of our promotions will be based there this Halloween. I'll share who our winner is for our first Halloween game of the season, a little later in this post.

Our Halloweeners have been bringing the magic, through their Instagram posts and reels and videos too, so click through on their makes to see some of that magic shared. Check out their posts for all the gorgeous Whimsy Stamps elements they've used in the creating!

We also have a wonderful post from one of our Guest Designers. Sylvie shared this on her Instagram channel as both a post and a reel. I absolutely love watching Sylvie bring a creation to life and how she uses masking paper to create the levels of a scene, mesmerising! I think you'll enjoy seeing her reel too, so her card below is linked to that.

We are getting ready to share the next Halloween promotion in our Facebook Group, which we would love you take part in! We have an incredible range of Digital Images with Halloween themes, so we are inviting you to share your favourites with us. You can share as many as you like and one randomly chosen participant will win the Digital Image of their choice from one of their suggestions. Watch in the Facebook Group for that event.

We've had two wonderful releases so far in August with some fabulous new Halloween products in there too. Our next New Release is on August 20th and it's a good one, so be sure to check back for that! Deb Davis our Creative Director here at Whimsy Stamps is very instrumental in bringing our Halloween line to life and when Halloween season rolls around she gets bitten by the creative bug. It's her favourite season after all! So let me share a few of her incredible makes using some of the new Quick Card Sets we released in August. Pop up the images for a better look at each one.

Please join me in congratulating Denise Bryant, who is the randomly drawn winner of our Halloween Word Game. The phrase to guess was 'Just Sitting Around Waiting For The Halloween Fun To Begin'. We had lots of correct entries and we're delighted you all seemed to have such fun with this game! Denise, please email our Denise at whimsystamps@gmail.com to claim your $25 Whimsy Stamps Gift Certificate. Have fun shopping!

Thanks for reading our mid-month update friends. We will be back with more creative inspiration soon, but be sure to follow us on Instagram and join our Facebook Group for all the latest spooky fun and games. We wish you a Happy Halloween Season friends! Halloween Hugs and Pumpkin Spice Kisses from all the team. Let the spooky fun continue, mwaahahaa xoxo

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 1

Hello, Whimsy fans!  Are you ready for the funnest blog event of the year?!
It's the one we at Whimsy wait all year for, and we hope you're just as excited as we are!  So, sit back and get ready to be inspired (and maybe a little frightened, too).

It's Andrea with you tonight, and I have a cheeky, interactive card to share.  It features the just-released Monster ATC Closeups stamp set.  When I saw the fun mummy in the set, I couldn't resist having a play on words (I love puns).  I'm hoping my British friends get a chuckle at least.

For this card I first stamped the mummy image and colored him with Copics.  I set him aside to work on the interactive portion of my card.

I first stamped the Farmhouse Shiplap Background onto kraft cardstock.  Using the partial diecutting technique, I cut a door into the panel with the Slimline ATC Windows Dies.  I scored between the cut areas to create a hinge for the door to open and close.

I distressed the edges of the panel with the same brown ink I used to stamp the background.  Next, I embellished the panel with images from the Fuzzy Spiders set.  I first stamped the webs in white pigment ink and then stamped the spiders and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used a white gel pen to fill in the spiders' eyes.

My sentiment largely comes from the Cute But Psycho stamp set.  I masked the bottom of the sentiment and stamped the top half with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I then stamped "mummy" with the Alphabet Mini stamp set.  Next, I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Cute But Psycho, masking the top portion first.

Finally, I adhered the kraft panel to my colored image and attached it to a cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my interactive, cheeky card.
Be sure to check out the entire release from earlier today and also read about the giveaways happening this month here.
