Tuesday Tutorial With Michelle

Hello there! Michelle here today, sharing a couple of quick cards using

Whimsy's newest Slimline Paper Pack, Frozen.

If you are like me, coloring your own background is very intimidating! The new Slimline Papers are the best thing ever!!!

There are several different scenes in a pack and they coordinate very well with so many Whimsy Stamps.

I chose Bearing Gifts, Frosty Wishes and Fairy Sweet stamps.

I colored the images up with Copic Markers.
Polar Bears and Seal: YR30, E50, E51, C3, C6, C9.
Penguin: C1, C3, C6, C9, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR30, BG000 .
Fairy: BV0000, BV00, BV01, B63, B66, BG11, BG13, BG34,
C1, C3, C6, C9, E000, E00, E11, RV00, RV02.

I wanted to add my own spin to the papers so I used the stencil Twinkle Cluster, and added some snowflakes to the fairy scene and glistening accents to the polar bear scene. I used distress oxide inks in shaded lilac and salty ocean.

I adhered the images to their scenes with foam tape.

I added Stickles clear glitter glue to the ice caps, tree and snow field, and all images.
I embossed the sentiments with white embossing powder.
I added some Sparkletz, All is Calm gems.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!

Special Guest - Katie Brooks

Happy Monday!  It's Katie back with you today!  I really love some of the latest Whimsy releases; they are fantastic.  When I first saw the Frosty Wishes set and the characters' cute expressions, I was all in!

Here is how I made this card:

  • I started by stamping my images onto Copic-friendly paper.  I spent a good amount of time coloring them just so and added highlights with a gel pen.  Then I fussy cut them out.
  • I came back in and stamped the sentiment on the sign after I had colored it.
  • Next, I picked some patterned paper that I thought would work well with the images.  This selection is from Simple Stories; I loved the different-colored flakes and how they pulled out the colors from the images.
  • I got out some hillside dies from my stash and used them to cut various bits of white paper.  I used my Cool Shadow Copic (BG10- which is also on my snowman) to add a little color to the hills.
  • I mounted the various layers of snowbanks with foam tape.
  • Then I slipped my images where I wanted them in the layers.
  • Lastly, I added some embellishments to add a little extra sparkle.

This snowman, his face, it just makes me happy.  I kinda wanna step into the scene and hang out with him and that cute penguin. They are so happy to see each other!

Here is one last look.  I hope you love it as much as I do!  A big thank you to Whimsy Stamps for letting me be a guest designer this month.  They have such cute products and such a nice team; it has been tons of fun!  THANK YOU!
