You are my Sunshine

Happy Wednesday Whimsy Fans and welcome to the Whimsy blog!

Today I am sharing a card made with one of the newer stamps from Whimsy Stamps' Time 4 Tea designs - Sunflower. I also used some older whimsy stamps.

I started out by masking of part of the card using torn paper, so I could spray the top and bottom separately green and blue using Dylusions spray inks. Then I used a mini cloud stencil and some gesso to make the cloud. I ended up adding more gesso over the whole sky part because I wasn't completely happy how the sky looked.

Next I stamped Whimsy's "Live Defined" background, masking the grass portion, as I only wanted the words on the sky part.
On the bottom portion I used the a mini tile texture stencil and some water mist to lighten parts of the ink and to create a fun texture. Next I stamped some grass onto the card. I wanted a little border so I used Whimsy's tree stamp from the set "For all the Women in our Lives" and black archival ink.

The image itself was stamped onto copic blending card and colored using copic markers. Fussy cut and adhered to the card. Sentiment is included with the fun "Sunflower" image by Whimsy's Time4Tea designs. I finished it off my adding a couple small punched out butterflies.

Hope you have a fabulous day,

A little bookmark

Good morning Whimsy Stamps! Ellie here today with  a little Whimsy Inspiration!

This was my first time ever making one of these corner bookmarks.  Can't believe how easy it was to create! I simply followed a tutorial found online for the basic shape, and then added my own designs.

I used one of the cute stamps from the Whimsy set "playful kittens". It's been colored using copic markers.

Here is another view of the book mark.

Thought I better leave a tutorial for you, in case you wanted to recreate it. Found one  here on the Whimsy Blog made by Iris. I did the same steps up until cutting parts off, I didn't cut off any corners on mine.
For the corner I used the die "Corner Lace Doily 2". Simply added a little flower and a couple of rhinestones to finish it off. This is so quick to make, and with the cute little image it would be a perfect little valentine. You could even hide a little piece of chocolate inside for an extra treat.

Thanks so much for visiting. You can find all the links to the Whimsy Products used below.
Have a fabulous day!!

Products used:
Stamps: Playful Kittens (Whimsy)
Papers: Winter Blues (Whimsy) xpress blend it card, SU
Tools: Lace doily corner 2 die, circle nestablities shape, scallop border punch

24 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to Day 4 of our 24 Days of Christmas Event!
Ellie here today, my turn to share a new creation with you, as well as a new letter!

I am sure you probably all know by now that we are holding a fun 24 Days of Christmas Event here on the Whimsy blog each day of December up until December 24th. So each day this month you will be collecting a letter and then once you collected your last letter on December 24th, you have to unscramble the letters to make a phrase. Email the correct phrase to
 whimsystampscontests at gmail.com
and then you will be entered into the grand prize drawing.
You might also want to leave comments on the blog here each day, as well as the Designer's personals blogs, as there are going to be random winners drawn occasionally, and nobody knows what days that is going to be on and whether they will be chosen from the Whimsy blog or our personal blogs. So the more you comment the higher the chances of winning.

Have you been collection letters from the last 3 days? I hope so! If not you can still go back and see the beautiful creations by the Designers, and collect your letters.

I had some time to create two cards for today's post.
The first one  uses the gorgeous stamp "Lissy's Little Light" from Whimsy's Elisabeth Bell's collections, which is from the latest release. Hadn't had a chance yet to use it, so I decided to use it for today's post. She's been colored with copics.

Whimsy products used:
Stamps: Lissy's Little Light, Holiday Cheer, lavish flourishes
Tools: holly and berries die

My second card uses an older stamp set, illustrated by Crissy Armstrong - Peace on Earth. Beautiful stamp set, probably my favorite non-cute Christmas set. It includes several images, including a gorgeous non-cute angel, and several sentiments.
I also colored this image with copic markers.
Whimsy Products used:
Notables 2 die

I am sure everyone has by now figured out my letter, if not, the letter you are collecting from today is

Hope you liked my two creation!
Be sure to check back here tomorrow for more Christmas Inspiration and to collect your next letter!

P.S.: Since we don't know whether the occasional random winners will be chosen from the blog posts here, or our personal blog, you might want to hop over to my blog and comment for a maximum chance to win!

Papers: Winter Blues (Whimsy Stamps)
Tools: layered snowflake die, copics

I added direct links to all the Whimsy products, so you can easily find them in the store.
Speaking of the store, did you check out Whimsy's Clearance and Retiring Stamp sections yet? Lots of stamps marked down, grab your favorites while they are still available. Don't forget Whimsy now offers FREE shipping (in the U.S.) on orders over $75!

Penguin Joy

Good Morning Whimsy Fans! Hope you are all doing well and are enjoying some nice autumn weather!
Ellie here today, my turn to share a whimsy creation with you!

Below is a card I made for last month's Rubber Stamp release. I used the super sweet stamp "Penguin Joy" illustrated by Crissy Armstrong.
Does it get any cuter than this??!!
I colored the image using copic markers. The beautiful paper behind the penguins is from the new 6x6 paper pack from Whimsy's Michele Roos designs - Winter Frost.

I also used a sentiment from the new release. It's from the set Season's Greetings Notables 7, and has been cut out using the new Notables 7 die. I embellished with some ribbon and twine, added the beautiful snowflake border (using Whimsy's snowflake border die ), and to finish it off I did some sewing.

Here is another view.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Something oh so cute!

Hi Whimsy Fans,

Ellie here today sharing some whimsy inspiration with you!
I am  sure you have all seen the new whimsy stamps May release by now. Wasn't it absolutely amazing!! I know I fell in love with lots of things, and today I am showing you a card made with my most favorite stamp from the release.

This is actually a complete stamp set, with sentiments and all, you don't have to choose a puppy in this set, you get them all!! The set is called "Naughty Puppies" and is illustrated by the amazing Sylvia Zet, available in red rubber at Whimsy Stamps.

Of course I couldn't decide which one to use, and so I just decided to use them all on one card. I just love how it turned out. You might have already seen it, as it was the card I created for the May sneak peek blog hop. You can see the post on my blog HERE.

Here is another photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to visit this blog often, as there will be something posted  here (almost) daily.

Have a wonderful day and
happy stamping!

Sweet Froggies

Good Morning Whimsy Fans and Happy 1st of May to you all!
It's Ellie here today sharing some Whimsy Inspiration with you. If you have been hopping with us for the last whimsy stamp release then you might remember seeing  these two cards using the super cute stamp set "Sweet Froggies" by 2CuteInk.

The card above also uses one of the birthday sentiments from the set  "Birthday Greetings" by Raindrop Echo Designs. I am so loving this stamp set as I always found myself having to type a birthday sentiment set up on the computer for kids birthday cards for the inside. This will be so quick to add now! Huge thanks to Ann and Denise for creating them!!

The sentiment on the above card is part of the set, this one goes perfectly with the cute smiling froggy.

You can find more info about these two cards on my blog in this post.

Many thanks for stopping by here, hope you enjoyed my cards for today. And don't forget to check back often for more fabulous whimsy inspiration!

Have a wonderful day with hopefully lots of sunshine!
