Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorial ~ Colouring with Deni

Welcome Whimsy friends!
I'm so happy that you should visit today,
as we have another fabulous digital team tutorial for you!!

Sweet Sunday Digital Team Tutorials!

The lovely Denielle from our Digital Team has created
an amazing Copic Marker colouring tutorial for you,
using one of our sweet Wee Stamps digital images.
There's even a sheet for you to print off
with Copic Colour details!

Now I'll hand the blogpost over to Deni...

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing with you a real time video for Whimsy Stamps colouring up Iris from the Wee Stamps collection. The image is available in Digital format and also as a Rubber Stamp. I have both of them linked up at the bottom of this post in the thumbnail links.

This is such a stunning image to colour up and I hope you will come and colour along with me (you can find the colouring video at the end of this post and a direct link if you prefer to watch directly on my You Tube Channel here.

I printed the image out onto X-Press It Blending Cardstock using my Brother Laser Printer - Laser Printers are completely Copic Marker safe and will not allow for any bleeding of the image.

To assist in the real time colouring video I mapped out exactly what colours I was going to use and where I was going to use them on this image. Hopefully this Direct Link works to the download as I have never done this before.

Copic Markers Used

Hair E74, E77, E79
Flowers R81, R83, R85
Scarf E31, E33, E35, E37
Skin ~ E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Dress V20, V22, V25, R81, R83, R85
Pants B93, B95, B97, R81, R83, R85
Wings B01, B02, B04, Y21, Y23, Y26

I began with colouring the skin on the image, I used E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20 for this area of the image.

Moving on to the hair, I used E74, E77, E79, this is my favourite blend for darker hair tones. I worked the hair in chunks rather than doing a flicking motion, meaning I coloured up each of the sections one by one.

Next up I coloured the scarf, I wanted it to pop off the image a little but still blend so I decided to go with a brown combo - E31, E33, E35, E37.

I coloured the pants up as a denim type look so went with B33, B95, B97 and used R81, R83, R85 for the flowers on them as I was planning on using those pinks on the image elsewhere and that would help bring all the details together.

I continued using the pink blend from above - R81, R83, R85 and coloured up all the flowers on the image, this is my most used pink blend of markers and one of the first ever blends of markers I used.

Next I began colouring up her dress, I used some V Markers - V20, V22, V25, they give a nice lilac/mauve type tone and I used the pink markers above to colour the strap on her dress.

Moving on to her wings, I went with yellow and blue, I used Y21, Y23, Y26 to give a nice golden yellow rather than a bright yellow. For the blues I had originally planned to use 3 markers however I ended up only using 2 - the B01, B02, the section to colour was only small and when I started laying the colour down I realised it was going to be unnecessary to add the third marker into the mix. I had planned to go back with my white gel pen and add the white dots back in however I completely forgot and did not do this - I will more than likely add these when I start putting my card together.

I used my 0 Colorless Blender marker to fix up any areas that need the colour pushed back in, then I used it to add some dotted detail to the wings.

Finally I used my Uni-Ball White Gel pen to add details to the image, this always makes an image look completed.

I thank you all so much for reading my post and I hope you will pop on over to my You Tube Channel and Watch the colouring process and colour along with me. Remember you don't have to use the same markers as me, they are there as a guideline only. Use what you have and make it you :-) I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

Christmas Candy with DT Deni

Good Morning All,

Today I am excited to start sharing some new images from Whimsy Stamps, they are now working with Pollycraft so we are excited to start working with another designer on the team. I am a long term fan of the Pollycraft images so am excited to be working with them.

The image I am working with today is Candy, she is actually one of the original ones I owned which is pretty cool.

I printed the image onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured her up using Copic Markers.

I cut some mat layers from American Crafts Cardstock and Mondi Color Copy using my Cutterpillar Pro Trimmer, and some patterned papers from American Crafts Hollyday Paper Pad.

Candy - Digital Stamp

I used a Decorative Die Nesting Square Bracket. First I traced the inside of the die using a Mechanical Pencil onto the image piece, then cut it out using EK Success Cutterbee Scissors. I then ran the same die with some Kraft colour American Crafts Cardstock through my Sizzix Big Shot, I then traced the outside of the die onto some American Crafts Cardstock and once again cut it out using my Cutterbee Scissors.

Once I had all my layers cut I grabbed some cute Christmas ribbon from my stash and also found this cool gold ribbon stuff so added that to the side of my ribbon. I adhered all the layers together using Scotch ATG and the ribbon also with the same, I then wrapped it around the back of those layers and taped it using some Scotch Magic Tape.

I added all the layers to a Couture Creations Card base using Scotch ATG, I then decorated the inside with the same papers to make it all match.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

DT Deni Coffee Time

Hi Everyone,

DT Deni here :-)

Today I am sharing with you Penguin Coffee Break from Crissy Armstrong, I love Crissy's Penguins so much :-)

It feels weird for me making Winter cards, we are just out of winter months here in Australia it is starting to warm up which we are looking forward to.

On a positive I have loved making winter cards the past few weeks, how cute is this little Penguin from Whimsy Stamps, but would you expect anything else from Crissy Armstrong :-)  She is the Queen of Penguins.

This is Penguin Coffee Break Set - Digital Stamp( WHM ) from Whimsy Stamps, and a digital file that you can download and print.

I printed the image and the sentiment onto X-Press It Blending Card using my Brother Laser Printer.

The patterned papers I have used on my card are from an American Crafts 6x6 Paper Pad called Hollyday. I cut two layers, one bigger layer and one a little bit bigger than the image. I adhered the larger piece to a Pre-made card base from Twiddleybitz (Unfortunately these are now retired). I added a doily on top of this piece using liquid adhesive.

The sentiment is also from Whimsy Stamps, I printed this when I printed the image out, the stamp set is called Penguin Christmas Sentiments 1

The Tree is cut from a Birch Trees dies, I ran them through my Sizzix Big Shot using Kraft Cardstock. I adhered them to the doily/patterned paper using American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive. I then layered the smaller of the patterned papers down.

The image I ran through my Sizzix Big Shot using an Inside/Out Stitched Rounded Rectangles, I then adhered it to the smaller patterned paper piece using Scotch ATG. I ran some excess of the blending card through my Big Shot using a Snowflakes dies, and then adhered them using a small dab of liquid adhesive.

My card still needed a little more at this stage so I grabbed some green rhinestones from Kaisercraft and added them to the centre of my snowflakes.

Finally I cut the sentiment to size and adhered it to the bottom of my card using Scotch ATG.

I decorated the inside of the card to match using leftover pieces of the patterned papers.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

Pups in a Basket - DT Deni

Hi Everyone, It's Deni here for my Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Day Woohoo!

Today I am sharing with you "Pups In A Basket", one of the August 2018 New Release Digital Images. I thought it would make a cute Congrats Card. You can purchase the image here and check out the rest of the shop here.

I started by sizing my image in MS Word (no fancy programs here) then I printed it onto Mondi Color Copy using my Brother Laser Printer.

Then I coloured it up using Copic Markers, I don't have a list to share of the colours that I used as I have had a few days lately of just sitting on the lounge colouring whilst watching TV with my family. I just pack up my Copics and my tray of uncoloured images and colour them all up.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook (all links can be found below).

Ballerina Magic - DT Deni

Hi Everyone,

Deni here.. We are already halfway through August, this is crazy.

Today I am sharing with you some Ballerina Magic with "Penguin Ballerina" from Whimsy Stamps.

I printed the image onto Mondi Color Copy 250GSM using my Brother Laser Printer and then coloured the gorgeous little penguin up using Copic Markers.

I prepared a leftover piece of American Crafts Cardstock using EK Success powder tool so that I was able to heat emboss a sentiment. I stamped the a sentiment from MFT Stamps Pure Innocence Tutu Cute "You are Tutu Sweet" I used Versamark Watermark stamp pad and an acrylic block from Lawn Fawn. I then added Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and used my heat tool to melt the embossing powder.

Penguin Prima Ballerina Bella Set - Digital Stamp
I then started to prepare my card, I cut some mat pieces from American Crafts Cardstock in Light Blue and White using Fiskars Surecut Trimmer. I cut some patterned papers from The Craft Stall Mini Stack and layered them onto the mat pieces. I cut some leftover pieces from the same paper pad and cut banners into them using EK Success Cutterbee Scissors. I love how sharp and pointy they are, it allows me to make a beautiful cut. I used Scotch ATG to add all the large areas.

I layered a doily over the top using American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive. I fussy cut the image out using my Cutterbee Scissors and layered it over the sentiment, I then using my liquid adhesive to adhere them to the doily. I added everything onto a Twiddleybitz Card Base using Scotch ATG then decorated the inside.

This completed my card, I loved the simplicity so decided not to add anything else.

Easter In August With DT Deni

As the year fly's bye so quickly at this time of the year I didn't expect to be working on Easter Cards, but when inspiration comes inspiration comes.. what can you do.

I had all these images coloured up (using Copic Markers) in my tray, sometimes I print or stamp lots of images at once ready for extra cards. Today I found these and I was inspired with bright colours and of course doilies.. I love doilies on my cards :-) I ended up making 3 cards in the set, I had so much fun making them :-)

I used the last bits of my Doodlebug Spring Time 6x6 Paper Pad, yes I finally reached the end.. it was definitely a tough moment lol. Now if anyone has some de-stash you know where to find me.

Onto my card, I used the gorgeous Penguin Easter Bunny from Whimsy Stamps, I printed them onto Mondi Color Copy 250 GSM using my Brother Laser Printer.

Penguin Easter Bunny - Digital Stamp
I fussy cut the images out using EK Success Cutterbee Scissors, I added sentiments that were leftovers from other projects. I cut different sizes of pieces of patterned paper from the Doodlebug Paper Pad, and some Plain coloured Cardstock from American Crafts and Canson Paper.

Everything was adhered using either Scotch 3M ATG or American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid adhesive. I then adhered the doilies and the images and sentiments. (One of the sentiments had been stamped using Versamark Watermark Embossing Pad and Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder, I also did prep the card stock using a EK Success Powder Tool) Once I had all those layers together I added them onto a Twiddleybitz Card Base.

As a final touch I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Sweet Lilac, Dandelion Yellow, Duck Egg Blue.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today, if you have any questions feel free to send me a message or contact me via facebook.

Dt Deni - Black and White or White and Black

Welcome to my Blog, I hope that you will enjoy yourself here, get some Mojo happening or just like the card I have created today.

I am using a stamp from Whimsy Stamps using Spring Zebra, created by our very own Crissy Armstrong its such an adorable image.

                               Spring Zebra - Digital Stamp

Here is the card I created.

I printed the image onto Mondi Color Copy 250GSM and coloured it using Copic Markers which I will have listed below the card process.

I started off by working with a Twiddleybitz pre-made card base, I then added a chocolate layer from Hopscotch 6x6 Paper Pad which I cut using Cutterpillar Pro.

I added a doily from my Stash using American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive, sometimes I reach for my ATG but because the paper is so fine on doilies I always end up tearing it. So notes to self always use liquid adhesive on doilies.

I then used some leftover pieces from the patterned paper pad to create some banners which I adhered using Scotch ATG.

I cut my Zebra on my Cutterpillar Pro, no fancy dies or anything just a basic rectangle shape. I decided to use a Hello die from My Favorite Things, I carefully adhered it to my image with some Masking Tape - I didn't want the die to move and mess up all my colouring. I then ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot. I ran the die through a second time with a piece of Canson Black cardstock to layer under neath. I used American Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive to layer the two sentiments on top of each other. I then carefully glued it back into place into the image.

I then adhered the image and sentiment onto my card using Scotch ATG. I finally added some Tonic Studios Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew, Duck Egg Blue and Dandelion Yellow.

This is my card complete. All the info about what was used on the card and the Copic Markers used will be listed below.

Let's Play Ball - DT Deni

Having fun playing with Penguin Baseball Player from Whimsy Stamps this week, including the gorgeous matching Sentiment Set - Baseball Sentiments, you can purchase them both in the Whimsy Shop here

Penguin Baseball Player - Digital Stamp   Baseball Sentiments - Digital Sentiments

I created this super cute card after merging the image and one of the sentiments together.

I merged them using MS Word, I don't have any fancy programs to use so this is where I do my basic editing.  Once I merged them I printed them onto Mondi Color Copy 250GSM using my Brother Laser Printer.

Once I had the image printed I ran it through my Gemini using a My Favorite Things Rounded Rectangles. I then moved onto colouring using Copic Markers. Copic Markers are my go to medium most of the time because I am comfortable with them. I do try to use my pencils but I really need to give them more practice.

I used a Kaisercraft 6x6 Paper Pad for my patterned papers, there was a cute paper in there that these gorgeous triangles and I thought they would be cute to cut out and use as a banner on my card. I grabbed my EK Success Cutterbee scissors to carefully fussy cut two of them out. I then ran some Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive down a small amount of the twine then attached the triangles. This banner turned out exactly the way I had imagined.. now I needed to work on the rest of the layout for the card.

I still had a few dies sitting on my desk so decided to bring the circle die and another of the stitched rounded rectangles into my card, I ran more of the patterned paper though my Gemini with those dies. I then adhered everything onto a pre-made Twiddleybitz card base using a mixture of Tombow Mono Multi Liquid adhesive and Scotch 3M ATG.

I was so happy with the way this card turned out, it was everything my head had imagined and more :-)

Let's Create DT Deni Penguin Teacher

Good Morning All,

Digi Design Diva Deni here with you.

Today I am here to share a little inspiration with the April Release of Digi Stamps from Whimsy Stamps. For my card I have used Penguin Teacher by Crissy Armstrong.

Penguin Teacher - Digital Stamp

I printed the image using my Brother Laser Printer onto Mondi Color Copy 250GSM.

The image was coloured using Copic Markers which you will find listed below.

I decided I want to make the chalkboard look realising, so I used my Copic Markers to colour the chalkboard and then the Uni-Ball Signo White Angelic Gel Pen to go over the text. First time i've done something like this and was quite happy with the way that it turned out.

I used a My Favorite Things Inside/Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle die and ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot to cut the image out.

My card base is a pre-made base from Twiddleybitz (no longer available for purchase), The mat layers are American Crafts Cardstock, patterned papers are from my leftovers box.

I used some Crayola Die Cut Shapes that I had been hoarding from my scrapbooking days, and some Kaisercraft Class Act Collection Collectables to finished the card off.

Everything was adhered using Scotch ATG.

Whimsy Stamps DT - There's A New Baby In Town

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a Baby Card for Whimsy Stamps, using one of their gorgeous Digital Stamps from Crissy Armstrong - Baby Ellie.
Baby Ellie - Digital Stamp

This is such an adorable image and I was so excited to use it when it was given to us, and of course I knew I wanted to make a Baby Card.

I printed the image on my Brother Laser Printer using Mondi Color Copy 250 GSM Cardstock. I coloured the image using Copic Markers.

I cut the matting layers from American Crafts Cardstock and the patterned papers are from Fancy Pants Designs - Hopscotch 6x6 Paper Pad. I used my Cutterpillar Pro to cut everything as I love the light that shines underneath so I can see exactly where I am cutting.

I cut the bottom of the banner piece using my EK Success Cutterbee Scissors, I just used a leftover piece of the patterned paper for this.

I cut the image using Wonky Stitched Circle Dies from My Favorite Things, the hearts were leftovers from a SSS die that I used on another card a few days ago, I added Nuvo Drops In Mountain Dew to the hearts, the clouds are from My Favorite Things Cloud dies.
All the small bits and pieces were adhered using Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Adhesive and the larger pieces I used my Scotch ATG.

Once all the layers were adhered I added them to a pre-made card base from Twiddleybitz (no longer available to purchase).
