Wee Silver Fairy

It's my turn today to post to the Whimsy Inspirations blog and I'd love to show you one of the cards I made for the special Wee Stamps for Whimsy Release from October using Sylvia Zet's gorgeous

"Silver Fairy".

She has been stamped with Memento ink and colored with Derwent coloursoft pencils. I use blending stumps and baby oil for blending. The baby oil works just as well as gamsol but without the fumes.

I cut the fairy out and if you look closely then you can see that I applied some glitter to her wings and the flowers in her hair.

The sentiment is from an old and retired set from Stampin Up. I thought all those magical words would be perfect to use with this fairy. I distressed all the edges using scissors. On the sentiment part I used the direct to paper technique (wipe ink pad lightly over the paper). And if you look really closely then you can see that I used a stamp from the set "Lavish Flourishes" by Raindrop Echo Designs (also available at Whimsy) on the sentiment too. Here is a picture of the whole set, since it's so hard to see on my card.

Isn't it gorgeous??!! There is a flourish to use for just about any card! Plus the whole set is only $8 cling mounted red rubber!!

Here's a quick list of items used:

• Stamps: Whimsy "Silver Fairy" and "Lavish Flourishes"; SU sentiment
• Card stock: Stampin Up, Neenah
• Designer Paper (K&company -I think?)
• Ink: Memento tuxedo black, caramel ink for sentiment and direct to paper technique
• Coloring Medium: Derwent coloursoft pencils blended with baby oil, copics for skin tones
  
• Punches: Martha Stewart butterfly and lace doily border punch
• Other: seam binding ribbon, sticky pearls, stickles glitter, janome sew mini sewing machine

A little bit of inspiration

Hi Everyone today is my turn to share some inspiration with you.

My first project is a cute little gift bag using one of Whimsy Stamps newest product line of templates and cut files called SHAPE EZ by TLC.

Whimsy’s very own Tammy Louise Cunliffe is the super-talented artist behind this new line, and she has designed some brilliant templates and cut files for making one-of-a-kind cards, projects, gifts, and more! These are downloadable templates and each file includes a JPG, PNG, PDF, and SVG version of the template along with how-to instructions. Each product is hand crafted and tested by artist Tammy Louise Cunliffe.

For my little gift bag i have used I have used the Shape EZ Rolled Bag and the Poinsettia shape and cut all of these by hand which i have to admit were a doddle to do,I have also used the Whimsy Stamps Vines die 

For my second project I have used the very cute Bart Loves Christmas stamp along with one of the Seasonal Ornaments stamps and matching Die, Postcard to Santa stamp and the Vine Die from the last release

Christmas Cracker

Hi, Lori here. Today I'm sharing a simple Christmas cracker that was created for Issue 4 of the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine http://issuu.com/whimsystamps/docs/issue4
These are so fun to make and are really simple. For mine I used a toilet paper roll which I filled with some little toys. I then wrapped it in wrapping paper and tied the ends with twine. I punched a piece of white cardstock for the centre and added Crissy's adorable Santa Claws stamp (available in rubber) to the snowflake and glued it to the centre of the cracker. You can also buy the crackers. Look for a simple pattern so you can add your own touches and fun embellishments.
