Ombre Butterflies

Hi Everyone. Today I wanted to share a card features the intricate Butterfly Background Rubber Stamp paired with on of the stamps in the You’re Too Kind Clear Stamp Set.  I cut out the word using the coordinating Thanks Word and Shadow Die SetThey were all  the perfect choice for pairing with Wow embossing powders.  I created an ombre effect on both the image and the sentiment by using three shades of embossing powders: Primary Bluetiful WH19R,  Primary Blue Topaz WH14R, and Metalline First Frost WG05R.

It may seem like this would be a difficult effect to create but it really isn't.  First you need to stamp the image using Versamark ink.  Then, taking your darkest embossing powder, sprinkle that onto the top third of the image. Shake off the excess, making sure to have it fall onto that first third of the card. That way none of the ink falls onto the rest of the image.   Then take your second darkest embossing powder and sprinkle the middle third of your card.  Shake of the excess, again making sure to have it fall onto the area that already has embossing powder.  The lighter powder won't stick to the top third because it already has powder adhered to it. Finally, you can use your last and lightest powder on the bottom third of your card.
