All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies! Be sure to visit both companies' blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!
I have always loved the Tombow's Dual Brush Water-based markers for my watercoloring needs, and now they have ventured into making new alcohol marker sets (like Copic markers)!
For this card, I used these Tombow products and Whimsy Stamps products together:
- Dual Brush Art Markers, 743 & 947 (pink & brown)
- Barefoot Beach & All Is Calm Sparkletz
For the background, I first heat embossed the Curly Q's in white on watercolor paper. I then colored the water-based pink marker #743 onto a piece of acetate and used a water brush pen to color in the swirls after dipping into the color on the acetate.
I die cut two stitched clouds and stamped the sentiment in black on the bottom cloud. For the frame, I used the negative from the Peekaboo Window 1 die and trimmed to fit over the card.
Next, I made the shaker window by adhering the acetate to the back of my frame, gluing the clouds to the frame behind the acetate, and then adding the sparkletz listed above into the center.
I decided to combine water coloring and alcohol coloring on my images to add different vibrancy to my pink colors because I went with a monochromatic design.
For the bottom balloons, I used the new pink tones alcohol-based markers, and I love how vibrant the colors are! They really help the balloons to pop! For my bunnies, I first heat embossed them in black and then used the dual brush markers #743 and #947 on the acetate and dipped the water brush in to color the images.
I hope you continue to join us this week as we share more inspiration using the Tombow products!
