All week long Whimsy Stamps and Tombow will be joining forces to bring you some amazing inspiration combining products from these great companies! Be sure to visit both companies’ blogs each day this week to see all of the incredible projects the designers have created AND to enter the giveaways!
I used a variety of Whimsy and Tombow products in my card today, both obvious and behind the scenes.
For instance, I used one of the Tombow ABT Pro Alcohol Markers Purple Tone markers for the sky. The chisel tip made quick work on that expanse.
Another behind the scenes way I used Tombow was to stamp the Whimsy Winter Sports beaver then draw in lines on the inner tube using a Mono Drawing Pencil 4H. I had read recently about the different hardness ratings for pencils, so thought I would give something other than a number 2 a try. The 4H worked a treat--exactly what I was looking for with thin, light lines.
I colored up the inner tube using ABT Pro Alcohol Markers Purple Tones then went over the pencil lines using a Tombow Mono Drawing Pen 03. This size is my favorite when it comes to pens as it matches many outline thicknesses of the stamps I use. I also used the 03 pen to make his pupils bigger. Ca-ute!
For the rest of the image, I used Copics.
To complete the card, I finished up the card base layers using Whimsy Mountain Majesty and Wavy Edgers. I adhered them using MONO Adhesive Permanent. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on one of the Quick Strips.

Your sledding beaver is so cute! I thought about buying this stamp set as the moose and beaver are such Canadian symbols too but have been unsure about buying the clear stamps. You seem to get a great impression from them so maybe I will have to buy some on a future order. 😊

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card! Love the purple sky!
ReplyDeleteYour project is amazing! I have been wanting to try the promarkers. And yes, i was just in an art studio class this fall and I learned a lot about using the mono drawing pencils. They are totally amazing and it really is fun to learn how much detail you can achieve with utilizing the different hardnesses of pencil!
