31 Night of Halloween - Night 3

Welcome to Night 3 of the 31 Night of Halloween! It's Barbara Sproatmeyer with you this evening.  For my project I wanted to take an every-day image and convert it to a Halloween theme so I chose to use Polka Dot Pals Kezia. I think she is great for all holidays and especially for those warmer climates. I love ice cream so it's not jut a summer thing for me. I can easily see her with a Christmas ice cream cone just as easily as a summer one.

To make this a Halloween theme, I used Halloween colors then added cobwebs and spider friends. For another idea on how to use this stamp with a Halloween theme (without the spiders), you can visit my blog HERE. And for a speed coloring video showing the background and spider webs, visit my YouTube channel HERE.

There are so many different ways to color Polka Dot Pals Kezia and here are a few of my favorites - including one with a modified cotton candy cone. Yummy! Each of these were stamped with a light ink color so I could color over the ice cream. If you want to stamp in a darker color and still do this, just wipe away the ink of the ice cream before stamping. There are more details and marker lists on my blog HERE and HERE if you want them.

If you're looking for more inspiration using this set then check out my blog HERE - her puppy is super fun to use with other stamps too. But if you don't already have her in your collection, I think she is a must have! You can add her to your cart here and support me as the artist and designer: Polka Dot Pals Kezia.

31 Nights Of Halloween - Night 2

 EEEEEEEEEEK!

Well hello ghoulfriends!
It's finally here,
our favourite month of the year and we so hope you're up for some spooky thrills and chills! (:

It's Sue here tonight with a ghostly graveyard scene - you might want to look away now because it is SCARY!

I put together some fa-BOO-lous Whimsy Stamps goodies to create this haunted graveyard!

First I made an inky background by blending red and orange ink over a piece of card and spraying it with water, mica powder and white acrylic paint.

I die cut the background to size with the largest die from the Slimline ATC Windows Die Set.

I then die cut the Haunted Graveyard Border with black and silver card and fixed the silver card behind the  black to create a moonlight reflection.  This was then fixed to the inky background.

I die cut a pice of black sparkly card with the frame from the Slimline Scenic Countryside Die and fixed that to the edge of the card with the trees and house on the top rather than glued underneath.

I added the wolf from the Monster Parade Die Set, the ghosts from the Boo Die Set and the number 31 from the Cutie Numbers Die Set.

I added the sentiment die cut in Silver card from the Foolish Mortals Die Set.

Finally I added some black dots with glitter glue.

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 1

Hello, Whimsy fans!  Are you ready for the funnest blog event of the year?!
It's the one we at Whimsy wait all year for, and we hope you're just as excited as we are!  So, sit back and get ready to be inspired (and maybe a little frightened, too).

It's Andrea with you tonight, and I have a cheeky, interactive card to share.  It features the just-released Monster ATC Closeups stamp set.  When I saw the fun mummy in the set, I couldn't resist having a play on words (I love puns).  I'm hoping my British friends get a chuckle at least.

For this card I first stamped the mummy image and colored him with Copics.  I set him aside to work on the interactive portion of my card.

I first stamped the Farmhouse Shiplap Background onto kraft cardstock.  Using the partial diecutting technique, I cut a door into the panel with the Slimline ATC Windows Dies.  I scored between the cut areas to create a hinge for the door to open and close.

I distressed the edges of the panel with the same brown ink I used to stamp the background.  Next, I embellished the panel with images from the Fuzzy Spiders set.  I first stamped the webs in white pigment ink and then stamped the spiders and sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I used a white gel pen to fill in the spiders' eyes.

My sentiment largely comes from the Cute But Psycho stamp set.  I masked the bottom of the sentiment and stamped the top half with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I then stamped "mummy" with the Alphabet Mini stamp set.  Next, I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Cute But Psycho, masking the top portion first.

Finally, I adhered the kraft panel to my colored image and attached it to a cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my interactive, cheeky card.
