Hello Whimsy friends how are you fine ladies and gents today?

I have a fun Christmas card to share with you lovely peeps

I have used the adorable Penguin Totem, to put a different spin on

my Christmas card I have also used the stitched hearts from the

Hearts of Love card builder, both items are found in the 

Newly Released section of the shop, the background papers are from the 

Winter Wishes 6x6 paper pad.

I thought about using the hearts because, I heart Christmas and penguins,

 also because some Penguins are monogamous, it also gave me the excuse 

to use the card builder full stop lol.

Hello! Linda here today with some inspiration for you.

I know what you're thinking.....is this a Christmas card or isn't it?  Well it can be. I'm calling it a winter card, it has that blue wintery feel and those stamped snowflakes and the sentiment is somewhat non-committal. Soooooo....you could use it for Christmas and it would work perfectly well as a non-traditional card, or you can use it for a winter birthday, or for almost any occasion taking place in winter.

I used the die from the new release called Geometric Snowflake. This is a great die, you can use it all together as a focal point or even as a doily, or you can take it apart and use the snowflakes individually. Also it doesn't hit you in the eye as a snowflake and so I think you can just as easily use this die on non winter cards.

I also used a sentiment from an older clear stamps set called Snowflake Wishes and some of the little snowflake stamps from that set and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

I added a few flowers leaves and pearls and some seam binding and twine to finish my card, just lightly sponging the edges of the white leaves with some distress ink in Weathered Wood and adding a little lightly brushed gesso here and there and on the flowers and finally brushing the flowers with some clear Wink of Stella.

DIY: Christmas Ornament

Hello creative peeps! It's Ellen here!! In this post I like to share how I made an ornament with my favorite Whimsy Stamps dies: Sketched Elephants & Brush Script Lowercase Alphabet. I would love to show you the tutorial below.

1. Cut two hearts and letters out felt with dies. Of course you can use other shapes (e.g. a star). In my explanation I talk about the heart.

2. Make words with your letters and glue them down on the heart. I use "Glossy Accents" for it.

 

3. Start to sew the two hearts together. I used white treat, I wish I had red, because I'm not the best at sewing (hihi)...

4. Fold the ribbon in half and sew it securely between the hearts.

 

5. When you're almost all the way around, stop and fill the heart with wimps. Sew your heart further and tie the string onto the start point from the starting point of the wire.

I think its super fun to make with kids.

November 2016 Digital Release News

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today we have some exciting news!!  The long-anticipated day is here!! Welcome to Whimsy Stamps Digital Shop Grand Re-Opening!

Whimsy has a selection of images, sentiments, and papers that are now available to purchase, download, and use immediately! All of the November digital products are available in the shop now! Please remember if you are located in an EU country you will be charged VAT tax when purchasing our digital products.

 
Digital images are great because you can flip images, use the computer to “mask” and combine images and backgrounds, and re-size everything to suit your personal projects before you print them off. Please read the Terms Of Use with each product purchased for all the details.

Digital images are easy to use. And they can be printed again and again, as many times as you like for your own personal crafting needs! What a bonus, especially when it comes to patterned paper - no more need to hoard a paper stash - once you have purchased and downloaded Whimsy’s Digital paper packs, you can print off your favorite sheets as many times as you like!
