Jack and Bushel

Good morning Whimsy fans!  I hope you loved all of the new stamps and dies that were released last week...I know I did.  It's my turn (Shelby) to give you a little bit of inspiration on this gorgeous Thursday morning!

Doesn't this pair remind you of a Tom Sawyer scene?:)  This stamp is from Elisabeth Bell's Little Cottage Cuties line and is called Jack and Bushels Painting the Fence.  Of course they've been colored up with markers and colored pencils to bring them to life!  I left off a sentiment so when I need a fabulous boy card, I can pop a sentiment on to fit the occasion.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope the rest of your week is wonderful.

Chalkboards

I’m off work this week and next and was whiling away the hours on Pinterest and kinda got inspired to play on the weekend.  This is what I came up with using the sublime new Christmas Chalkboards 1 sentiment stamps designed by Simonne Clay.  Shoo, that girl is ace at sentiments.

These stamps make for really quick and easy cards, that’s for sure.  I stamped the sentiment onto black card using Versamark ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder and layered it up.  The Papermania papers are from last year, or was it the year before?  All I know is a bought quite a few packs ….. I love red and white for Christmas.

Bookish

I used the fabulous Bookish stamp on this card which is from Whimsy Stamps--Time For Tea Designs collection. I'm really smitten with these stamps! I also used the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps-Raindrop Echo Designs- Friendship Ticket Sentiments

She has glossy accents on her glasses so that's why you see a little glare in the photo. :)

Have a super fabulous crafty day!

Mr Frosty

Morning!  I am sharing a card using one of the new stamps that were released a few days ago.  Wow, the stamps in this release are just amazing, soooo many sentiments to chose from (and I LOVE sentiment stamps.)

For today's project, I inked up Mr Frosty.  Oh Man!  I just love his raggedy hat lol.  I also used the Christmas Tree Trio stamps which I heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder.  There is also a matching Christmas Tree Trio die that works perfect with the stamps.

A closer look at Mr Frosty, he is just so stinking cute.

I used one of the Christmas Tree stamps on the inside.  I really love these and think they will come in so useful for Christmas cards

Whimsy Inspiration - Winter Wonderland Tutorial

Hi Everyone! It's Shannah here today to share some Whimsy Inspiration with you!

This is a card I made this week for our 2014 Holiday Release - Part 1 using a gorgeous new image and sentiment set called 'Winter Wonderland', from our very own Simonne Clay (SC Designs).

I stamped some of the gorgeous tall 'Winter Wonderland' birch trunks in Memento 'Rich Cocoa', leaving a gap in the centre to stamp a Brilliance 'Coffee Bean' deer. I added a sentiment from the same set in Memento 'Rhubarb Stalk', and scattered snowflakes (also from this set) in Memento 'London Fog'.   I framed this scene with dark brown cardstock, and attached the whole piece to a white square card. To finish I added Stickles for some sparkle on the snowflakes.

I had so much fun with this 'Winter Wonderland' stamp set that I thought I'd share another very simple card I've made, with a quick tutorial on how to achieve the 'misty forest' look.

You’ll need:

white cardstock
Bazzill ‘Simon' cardstock
Memento ‘London Fog’ and 'Rhubarb Stalk' Ink
Spellbinders Nestibilities ‘Romantic Rectangles’
Manual die-cutting machine
Kaisercraft 'Red' Pearls

1. Trim a piece of white cardstock to 6 1/4" x 8 1/2", then score and fold to create a card blank. Cut a piece of  teal cardstock 6 1/8" x 4 1/16" and attach to the card front.

2. Die cut a Romantic Rectangle from white cardstock, and attach to card.

3. Trim another piece of white cardstock to 5 3/5" x 3 3/8" (which will fit neatly inside the romantic rectangle). Onto this piece stamp 'Winter Wonderland' birch trees in London Fog ink several times, leaving a gap on the right hand side (for your deer later). For added interest shift your stamp to get different 'heights' on your trees.

4. Stamp several more trees around the first ones and in the gap, this time 'kissing' your inked stamped onto a tissue first to leave just whispy impressions with the remaining ink.

5. Stamp the Winter Wonderland deer with Rhubarb Stalk ink in the gap in the trees.

6. Adhere stamped scene to card.

7. Die cut a Fancy Label Die from teal cardstock, and trim a piece of white cardstock to fit neatly inside. Stamp with Winter Wonderland sentiment in Rhubarb Stalk, and add to left hand side of card. Finish with a couple of tiny red pearls.

You can see more of my work on my Blog;  Embellished ExpresShan's.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Penelope Little ironing

Hello
Louise here today to share a book I have made using one of the new releases called
Penelope little ironing by Elisabeth Bell

I really enjoy making little books and often make them for friends as presents
When I saw this image I thought it would make a lovely book cover
So I have made a list note book
I am always making lists on scraps of paper and this will be much nicer to use

I have coloured the image with copics and added liquid pearl drops around the image
The letters are die cut and covered with glossy accents

Bye for now
Louise
