One Layer Card

HiyaWhimsy Fans, Iris here! Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday! I don't do one layer cards too often but once while I enjoy doing them. This one was published in Whimy's Inspiration Magazine / April issue.

This cute pup is called 'Darling Dalmatian' and is from the Meljens Designs Collection

If doing one layer cards it is best to use heavy card stock for the card base to give the card stability. I like to use Gina K Pure Luxury 120lbs. Even if I color using my Copic's it's not bleeding through and the inside stays nice, white and clean!  

 

 

 

I've added a ribbon and some bakers twine, topped it off with a matching red button and added the sentiment 'To be loved' from the 'Love Mini Tickets' collection from Raindrop Echo Designs. The small embossed lines on the bottom and the top is made with border embossing folders.

Good morning Whimsy Fans! Thanks so much for visiting Whimsy's Inspirations blog today! Hope you are all doing great and enjoying Summertime!

Ellie here, it's my turn to share a card with you today!
I made the card below for last month's Whimsy Rubber Stamp release.

I don't know about you all, but I just love baby cards with storks. And this Meljen's Designs Baby Stork is just the most precious baby card stamp!

I used a cloud die on the blue paper and adhered it to white card stock to create the clouds. The stork with baby was cut out after coloring it. I used a circle die to cut out the hill using some designer paper. Added a button with a bow and then tucked the sentiment under. My sentiment is not from Whimsy Stamps, it's from a stamp company no longer in business, but if you are looking for a baby sentiment set, then you should check out Whimsy's Baby Sentiments set by Raindrop Echo Designs. It's set of 14 stamps I believe, all for $8.
  To finish off my card I simply did some sewing around the edges and the hill.  A really simple card to  make. Hope you like it!

Thank You! - For Everything!

Hello Whimsy Friends, Iris here today. The card I have to show today was the card I send to my mom for Mothers Day and also one of my cards published in Whimsy's April magazine.

This cute 'Chef' image by Kenny K was just perfect to use for my mom as she is a brilliant chef and cooking is her passion! I colored it using my Copics and the background was done with the Copic airbrush system. The ticket sentiment is one of Ann's Ticket Note's. The gorgeous cupcake is a Whimsy shapeology die as well! I cut it out three times. For the top, the cherry and the bottom. To the cherry I've added 3D glaze and a flower stem from one of my paper flowers. Other dies and punches used: Whimsy's vines die, elegant butterflies die and a small butterfly punch from EK success. Flowers are Whimsy buds and from my stash. DP is from Bo Bunny and the chandelier garland I've used can also be found in Whimsy's embellishment section!
